Description
I was heavily inspired by the 1933 Mickey Mouse cartoon, The Mad Doctor. I watched it repeatedly to get an idea on how to make the background dark and spooky without making Bendy vanish into the background. It's not perfect, but it's a start!Now, to get back to working at my contest entry. I spent a little too much time on this...

I do watch both early Disney and Fleischer cartoons when I am drawing Bendy and his friends. This is one I havenβt seen yet.

I don't know about him being 'in' an older cartoon. I mostly used the Mad Doctor as a reference because I needed to see how they would use light in a dark room. I was trying to go for the 'faux screenshot' look, although I must admit I need to practice backgrounds.

I can see Joey Drew as the Mad Doctor and Boris as Pluto. Thankfully everything turned out alright in the cartoon.Β
