Well a proper exosuit would be full of machinery that is designed to allow an automaton to move the suit as if it was their own body (Think of it like power armour for robots!). The problem is that this machinery means there isn't enough room for a human to fit inside. Of course the fact that it is suggested that they'd try to fit an automaton into Security if they thought he was an unoccupied exosuit suggests they don't actually have any idea of what they're doing and even an automaton being fitted into an exosuit might be damaged or possibly broken by them.
Nobody is safe around Freddy, not even other automatons.
