And finally.. it arrived. Leopard 2RI, the designation of upgraded Leopard 2A4 for Indonesian Army.I was waiting for three years to confirm the actual shape of the AMAP-B modular add on armor, especially on the turret.
The girl on the commander station is Leorin, my PSO2 character.
The connection is, I named her after this tank lol.
Leopard 2RI = Leopard 2 Republic of Indonesia -> Leorin
Note that the camouflage is hypothetical. As for now (May 27, 2016) they are still plain green, and there is no new photos other than when they were arrived at the harbor (angkasa.co.id/info/militer/ang… ) and while it was still at Germany (www.altair.com.pl/news/view?ne… ).

saw on defence.pk, a local company is developing their RCWS.
my wild guess is the gun will be mounted on APC. Because if they mounted that on this tank, it will be more complicated because they must integrate it with commander's panel.
& cmiiw there is no provision to mount RCWS (judging from the scale model photo @ kaskus) unless they made it themselves.

Is good tank ,but it lacks the armor agains APFSDS and ATGM.

Afaik it has already good armor, and the AMAP-B upgrade adds more protection.
And yeah it doesn't prevent incoming projectiles since the Army choose not to include APS upgrade into this tank.
Btw military fans & enthusiasts here originally wanted T-series, particularly T-90. And one politician even wanted T-64BM (!), the upgraded cold war relic.. lol
