Live subjects for fae-study were rarely available (and those live subjects who were collected in "faerie traps" generally engaged in substantive transition before physical examinations could be undertaken). However, noted photogrypher Luxet Tenebrae managed to convince a number of fae to pose for his lensachron during the mid-century period, with the result that we have a number of at least two-dimensional subjects. So, for instance, we can assume from the image below that many of the fae's abilities with regard to the seemingly natural manipulation of aethers and plasms, as well as of material and even living objects, relates in some way to the gem-like protuberances that pattern their bodies and seem to come and go from their finger-tips. The fae's abilities in those regards in many ways equals--and in some ways exceeds--those of modern alchemy, physicks, the aetherial sciences, and plasmic aengenieering.
