You should really try to outline it and colorize in illustrator.

I'm thinking of doing a whole alien in Illustrator since they're easy for me. I'll try to practice with the gradients and meshes. Are they tools or something else?

lol you don't touch illustrator at all do you? I don't know how to use the mesh tool, but I am familiar with gradients, transparencies, and layers. I will make a tutorial for you!

Wow a tutorial would be great, but only if you have the time. The only thing I use is photoshop and even that I only use about 1/3 of the features. For example I used it for 2+ years before I even attempted to dabble with the masking features, the project did turn out well but I have never used that technique again. I'm really trying to push myself to get into painting to help justify the cost of a Cintiq. All these Jasons were to see if I could draw with a tablet. I do have a cell phone, I thought I gave you the # when I first got it, I'll email it to you.
