Description
A character project we had to do for school. Took a lot of time to do but I'm glad at the way it came out!It's Meow or 'Mymyamo', a Betelgeusian alien that looks like an anthro cat from the anime Space Dandy. (My second officially fully watched and kept up to date anime)
I'm handing it in tomorrow, Hope I get a good grade
EDIT: lol ops, there were some layers that were locked and they didn't copy over when exporting the picture... Stupid Illustrator... yea, sorry about that.

My first anime I watch traditionally from ep 1 to the final was SAO (sword art online). I heard season 2 was crappy so I stayed away from that. |D

I watched it when it first started (Granted a few episodes behind, started watching when there were only 4 or 5 eps up but was with it from the start) It's a good show! He's the reason I started watching the show tbh. The second I saw him, I had to see what the show was about and I fell in love with it instantly

It was kinda fun to work on but also not really because the pen tool can be very annoying at times to use and we were forced to use it in everything we draw for that class (Pen tool is not a free hand pen. It's a pen where you place points and use anchor points or handles to give curves to your lines.) There were lots of un necessary layers for this program where as in SAI I could have done this much faster and with less layers (Around 70 layers in this)

the reason for using the pen tool instead of just drawing it free hand?
That does seem like it would be much easier and quicker (and ouch, that
is quite a bit of layers for something like that).
But nonetheless, it did turn out very well

We have to use the pen tool because is gives us crisp lines that we can edit, move and stretch around. Don't get me wrong, it is a very handy tool but for things like making details in his shoes or hat or shirt, it's annoying to use because you need to use ANOTHER tool to get the line to thin out in wrinkles and what nots. All of these are useful but they're just very time consuming. We also need to use them because that's what the program wants us to do and for illustrations, it's the main tool to use with the best results, just takes a lot of time as I've said. But hey, I still love it. My most fav class and it's even better when you got friends all around you who love doing the same thing! Made 3 friends and 5 class friends from that class alone! Plus the teacher is very nice even though I find she gets annoyed with our corner easily lol.

use, idk if I'd have the patience for that.

It is a lot of fun but sadly it's almost over. I have one last major project and I can't wait to upload it once it's done. It's halfway done but I only have 3 classes left |D
