Description
Ancestor: Spectral Tarsier
Size: 50 cm
Habitat: dense forests of mixed rambutan and fig
Niche and Resource: woodland canopy animals which ambush large insect and tiny vertebrate prey
Description: These tarsiers are semi nocturnal but mostly crepuscular, with large ears constantly swiveling around to pick up subtle noises of its prey. With a diet consisting mainly of large insects, this large animal will occasionally take any small vertebrate that strays too close. During hunts they disperse to hidden locations and wait for their prey to come by, deftly snatching them with their hands and dispatching them with a bite to the head. Their social behaviors are unique in that, while they do hang out in groups during rest, they interact very little outside of those between subadults and the juveniles they care for. Yet, their bonds with one another are very deep and groups are stable in composition. Sytrakandi are much larger animals, unafraid of predators as so far none are yet big enough to effectively hunt them (At least adults, wandering offspring sometimes get captured.) Melodies are at a slower, lower pace than for other related species. While known for being lazy, tranquil creatures, blue sytrakandi are still capable of short bursts of speed while traveling, moving both with climbing and a bit of brachiation
