Description
The smallest of the gremloids, this species is entirely nocturnal and will dig a small, temporary burrow during the day to avoid the heat. It is unique among other species in that it spends most of its time on the ground rather than in trees. dune wanderers compete heavily with fennecs for resources, feeding primarily on pseudoscorpions although they will also take other small prey such as tiny gundis and lizards. Their sense of hearing is phenomenal and can easily detect their prey, sneaking up to it like a little cat before pouncing with its hands and swiftly bringing it to its sharp teeth to kill it (as their prey is the kind that usually fights back and they dont want to get bit or stung.) Wide padded feet assist in traversing the sands and their fur is thin, so that they do not overheat. All their moisture is derived from their food, and urine is excreted in pellet form. Breeding twice a year (once in early autumn and again in early spring), they are quite common but have a high mortality rate due to predation. Females and males are solitary and nomadic, earning them their name. Their main defense strategy is camouflage but they are very fast and will dart away if approached too closely
