Very interesting shot. I love how you've managed to achieve the effect of having a background colour which is so very similar to the colour of the iPod. I also like how minimalistic and simple it all is.. it's all the more effective because of that, I think.
I'm not too sure that your choice of product to advertise is original or creative, but the way you've chosen to portray and photograph it is very effective.

Do you use something special like those backgrounds that are in photostudios?
Or do you just use something else?

I dont use special background, the gradiation of white to gray
is caused by the diffuser i put on top of the product/subject.
