Description
All the gates at Shamu Stadium were open before the show and most of the orcas were socializing in the show pool. It was very interesting to see them pick their own company! Front to back: Shouka, Corky, Ikaika, Kasatka, Kalia, Orkid, and Nakai.Taken before Shamu Story at SeaWorld San Diego on 12/21/12.

It is a real pod, just at SeaWorld! They generally are kept in varying groups (but usually based off of family & friends) but in this instance they opened all the gates to allow the orcas to choose their company and where they wanted to go.

It's interesting to see a bunch of the pod together, in my opinion! Nice photo of them all, I love the reflection of the whale tail on the water!
