I'm not usually the type to repost things like this, but this whole AI art disaster is something I feel very strongly about, and I doubt I'd ever be at rest if I didn't speak up.
Don't engage in the creation of AI-generated "art". AI "artists" are not real. Some AI-generated art is even claimed to be real art because of DeviantArt's tagging.

(Long-winded rant ahead)

AI-generated art is "trained" using real art made by real artists. There are so many artists whose work have been used to "teach" the AI how to make "art" that it's just about impossible to provide the credit that these artists deserve. We, the human artists, spend hours working on our art, putting in a lot of time, effort, and attention-to-detail to share what we love with the world. For all of that to go to waste, and for it to be poorly recreated in masses without credit, really does hurt to think about, and it hurts even more to experience it. Kayas-Kosmos does a good job of explaining this, and they're a victim of it themselves.
Artists are losing their clients to AI-generated "art", too. Why commission an artist to draw something in a week when you could get an AI to make it for you for free in under five minutes? People like me enjoy drawing art. It's something we're passionate about, and something that makes us happy. Many of us look forward to continuing our careers and hobbies as artists far into the future. Unfortunately, we're being replaced by machines that have no passion or emotions whatsoever. Where does that leave us? Our future is looking pretty bleak in that light... I'm a young artist myself, and I wanted to keep drawing professionally, but now I'm in a bit of a crisis. I have no idea what to do with my life anymore, so all I'm left with is a sense of hopelessness.
These AI "artists" are posting stolen artwork as if they drew it themselves. Not only that, but people have been using AI-generated images to create designs, and then selling those designs. Where do you think those designs come from? They come from our real art. It's stealing our art AND our OCs. I'm more upset about my OCs getting stolen than I am about my art getting stolen, because my OCs are my pride and joy, the things I'm most passionate about. I can't stand the thought of losing them to AI.
AI-generated "art" is also being used for NFTs, which are, put simply, a massive scam. Put simply, you pay for a receipt saying you own something, but you don't actually get it. There's a chance that hundreds of other people could've bought a receipt saying that they own the exact same thing. There's a chance that the person selling them doesn't even own it, and it could belong to someone else. What if this was your art, or your OC? There'd be a ton of people saying that they own your art and/or character. There's not much you can do about it without getting legally involved. People could also pay as much for a picture of a monkey as they would for a Picasso work. Even if you somehow manage to find a completely legitimate NFT, it's still inherently bad due to the insane amount of energy used to allow you to purchase it. They're incredibly environmentally harmful. As one example, if you've ever heard of Fer.al/Cinder, you may be aware of just how devastating this was to those communities. Don't let more people be hurt by supporting AI-generated art and NFTs.

Do not talk to me if you're an AI "artist". If you support any of this, I'm going to have to ask you to leave my page. A lot of people are being hurt by this. I don't want to be anywhere near anyone who thinks that this is okay.
