Hanakui can manipulate items that possess recognizable facial features or a humanoid form. Alike to a technological approach to facial recognition, she will analyze the face and attempt to match it with the relative position, size, and shape of a nose, mouth, eyes, etc. Going through the same process, she will also match the item's form with one of a human's (matching the head, torso, limbs, etc. with what her quirk believes to be a "humanoid figure"). With people being more advanced at recognizing others than most technologies, Hanakui can control items with semi-realistic faces and passable bodily forms, like that of a caricature or a doll. Although Hanakui's control over her "puppets" heavily relies on this recognition, checking off one of the requirements will already allow her to manipulate them without much trouble.

Once activated, she has the ability to rouse these objects and maneuver their form like puppets, lend them all or a portion of her consciousness, contort their features, as well as program them with simple instructions. They will continue to carry out her commands until she loses control of them (by way of either exhaustion or falling unconscious) or commands them to do otherwise.

The face must be a part of the item (for example, faces on monitors don't work, but ones on posters do), and the item's mobility simply depends on the item itself. For instance, she can unhook a painting from a wall, but she cannot make it walk, as it has no legs. She prefers using dolls or statues, but will make do with whatever is at hand.

However, even if Hanakui recognizes a face or form (for example, a smiley face sticker or the front of a car), her quirk might not think of it as one, as it might not match with/lack features that the quirk defines as "humanoid". Although a faceless doll with fewer than four limbs is generally out of the boundaries of her quirk, she may supply it with a semi realistic face as a supplement for her quirk to properly visualize the subject. It's for this exact situation that she carries around bottles of black ink and multiple brushes of varying shapes and sizes.

Hanakui’s quirk requires her to lend a portion of her consciousness to the items she maneuvers; heavily using it slows her personal processing and consequently, her response to immediate threats within her vicinity. Prolonged use of her quirk also drains her energy, and in the event that her last puppet is struck down, the fullness of Hanakui’s mind will return to her body, appropriately taxed. Although her form might not always end up wounded after a battle, her quirk has the potential to be very physically and mentally draining.

モブ (Mob) is an ability that relies on an area of effect, and is one that focuses mainly on controlling a large unit (up to 30 if they're human sized, though smaller items are generally easier to control; meaning that the amount of items under her influence depends solely on their size. Their measurements can vary, ranging from as small as a plastic soldier toy to life-sized items). She gives them a temporary life force and a portion of her consciousness to do as she commands. When this is active, Hanakui simply only has to point to her target as her small mob will attempt to do anything in their power to serve her; whether it be trampling the enemy, throwing themselves at the target, etc.

This is most useful for overwhelming her targets, focusing more on distracting the enemy and swarming them rather than dealing any significant damage.

LIMITATIONS :
This spell relies on an area of effect. To call upon her small mob, they must be a maximum of 30 meters away from her; and, to control them, she must be within a 40 meter radius. A step further and she will lose any influence over them.

Hanakui has very little control over each individual member of her mob, as her consciousness simply can't handle being split between single puppets and the rest of the crowd. Though dividing them (halves, thirds, or fourths) and giving the groups different commands is possible, it won't last for very long.

It's very dangerous to use this if Hanakui is tired. When stamina is low, she will lose any form of control over her mob, leaving them to do as they please until she either steps out of the area of effect or falls unconscious.

「 Marionette 」

Hanakui chooses her fighter, and together, they will act as puppet and puppeteer. Since she can only use this on one item, her control is more refined. Hanakui can command the "puppet" to mimic her movements like a shadow; or, alternatively, she may simply put it on autopilot and pick her target. While the latter requires a larger amount of energy, she can focus on other things at hand; and, while the former allows her to move more freely, Hanakui finds it very difficult to focus on other tasks while controlling her puppet. Micromanaging by tapping into the item every now and then will increase its effectiveness and accuracy, and serves as her favorite technique, as it has an almost equal balance over how effective and how draining the ability is.

LIMITATIONS :
Hanakui must stay within 20 meters of the "puppet" to maintain control of it.

If she chooses to leave it on autopilot, Hanakui must be wary of it's surroundings, as the puppet has no sense of what is and isn't okay. For instance, it might use other items as weapons or shields, or it might break through walls and trample over things to reach its target, etc.

Larger items require more energy and focus to control, while directing smaller items can be an unconscious action.

Hanakui's consciousness will temporarily be transferred to an item of her choice. Said item will temporarily function as her new body. She can manipulate her new vessel to mimic her movements, and she will be seeing through the "eyes" of the item. It requires little to no focus to maintain and control, since it feels as if she were in her usual form. Though, much like the rest of her abilities, it does gradually exhaust her.

LIMITATIONS :
In battle, this is seen as a last ditch effort, as she must protect her unconscious body herself (or have someone do it for her). Any damage on her unused body will not be felt by her, forcing her to keep a constant eye on it. It will divide her attention between protecting herself and attacking. Hence, it's not ideal to be used as a normal move.

Her strength and limitations depends on the item itself. If the item possesses only one eye, she will only be able to see though that. The same applies for limbs, etc. Generally, she prefers to use items made of iron or stone (ideally, a statue) since it boosts her power and is very durable.

If the object destroyed beyond recognition, Hanakui will be transferred back into her own body, though unconscious for a period of time (one appropriate to how long she spends using this ability). She will feel slightly disoriented, and might take a few minutes to fully gain control of her original body once she is able to move.

Act I : Childhood

Hanakui Haruko was born into a high-class family as their only child. They lived in Germany, as her mother was German while her father was Japanese. Her parents owned one of the largest toy companies in the country, and so she grew up without having to worry about money or being unable to get what she wanted. All she had to do was ask.

  Hanakui went through her early years without a quirk. She was a dull child; a blank canvas. As the other children begun developing their powers, she could only sit and watch on the sidelines. So, with whatever shred of pity they had for their daughter, her parents had constantly spoiled her, which had only succeeded in making Hanakui get used to the silver spoon in her mouth. She became harsh and unforgiving to anything that she found even slightly displeasing. If someone were to meet her, they'd call her your typical spoiled rich kid.

But her parents didn't care how spoiled they had made their daughter. As long as she could be the one to inherit the family business, they remained uninvolved in her personal matters. Even when the other children teased her for being quirkless, they didn't bat an eye. When Hanakui began getting into fights with her peers at her elementary school, they brushed it off. They feigned ignorance to her scratches, her bruises, and her stained uniforms. But Hanakui never complained, either. The constant physical fights were the only thing that she could tolerate, no matter how bitter a feeling it left afterwards.

  It stretched on for weeks, then months, and years. Three transfers to three different schools, and Hanakui was branded as a delinquent in each one. Though, through it all, she managed to keep up her grades. She excelled in her academics, and that had only made the other students label her as even more dangerous.

On the night of Hanakui's ninth birthday, soft laughter could be heard coming from her room. The girl rarely laughed, or showed any emotion at all, besides mild annoyance and complete disinterest. This, coupled with the patter of small feet, caused her parents to become curious.

And so, they began to care. They began to wonder about what was happening. As the noises persisted for nearly an hour, the girl's parents finally stood at the door of her bedroom and slowly opened it.

  A doll staggered its way across the floor as Hanakui clapped her hands in delight. She finally had a quirk.

Act II : Adolescence
" Hell if I care. "

Her parents had thought that the fights would stop. Hanakui had a quirk now, and the other children had no reason to bully her. Like them, she had no reason to raise a hand to anyone. Or so they thought.

Their daughter, simply put, was a delinquent at heart. Even as she began maintaining her appearance, becoming more expressive, and preserving her high academic grades and rankings, the girl wouldn't stop looking for trouble. It was in these scuffles that she was able to test the limits and abilities of her quirk, and if you were to ask her, she'd say that they were more fulfilling learning experiences than anything that she'd ever done in class so far.

It went on and on. Once more in elementary, she transferred. And once more during middle school, she moved. Not long after her transfer, it was her parents whose ignorant acts had shattered first, much to Hanakui's disbelief. They were absolutely, positively, without a doubt, one-hundred-percent, tired. Even if she passed her classes with flying colors and was a model child if you were to set aside the constant scuffles , they couldn't take it anymore. And so, they moved Hanakui one final time.

They sent her to Japan, where the toy company had begun to branch out internationally. Whether this was for business' sake or for Hanakui's, they never told, and she never asked. She had only silently obeyed. To her, there was nothing to miss at her old home anyways. Even if the true reason was only her parents seeking for some sort of break, she wouldn't mind it.

Hanakui shrugged and let herself be whisked away.

Act III : Early Academy Life
      " Wonderful things, wait for me. "

Hanakui moved in with her cousin, who, after much debate, finally agreed to having her. She settled in and lazed around, letting her parents control her life from afar. They sent her large sums of money for a monthly allowance, and paid for her school fees. They had enrolled her in the National Academy of Shinohara, more to let the hero-training curriculum exhaust her of any urge to get in physical confrontations any further than she was required to.

And it had worked. Her parents' plan to calm her down had gone without a hitch. Hanakui, a girl who excelled in her studies and possessed a potentially powerful quirk was accepted into the academy. She likes life there better than she had expected, and throughout her first year, she seriously considered becoming someone who used their quirk to benefit others.

Egotistical as she was, through her second year, that flickered, wavered, and began to fade. She looks forward to new things, and quite enjoys looking back on her years spent at the academy. She's now a third year student, taking pleasure in her mundane everyday life filled with lots of fun sparring.
