At last, the best photo of the bunch - mostly because I didn't take it. This is me with TF comic writer Simon Furman. If a company has put out comics for TFs, chances are good he's been part of it.He's not at all what I expected - no hovering like a vast, predatory bird. He's very enthusiastic, soft-spoken, all nice and kindly...granted, poor dental work, but he is British.
And yes, I know that's a cruel stereotype, but it was a joke. I have nothing but the highest respect for Mr. Furman, and the fact that he encouraged my efforts when I mentioned my writing ambitions only further earns that respect. Plus, he did this photo with me...nice man.
Now, if I tower over Simon Furman and Scott McNeil, what chance, then, does PAT LEE HAVE?

You know⦠We had Simon as a guest at the Scandinavian Transformers convention, RetCon, last year.
And you know what? He remembered me! From an earlier convention, in 2011.

Gods.. Same here... I've read so much of his works over the years... HIS version of Transformers dominated my life... STILL to this day, I do not consider anything to be true Canon TFers unless he's the writer or involved in some way.Β

No denying he's a big name for it. I wish he'd occasionally pop in for more stuff with IDW, but alas, I think that ship sailed.

I didn't ask him anything. All I did was ask for a photo, thank him for his work and mention that I was an aspiring writer (to which I got words of encouragement).
I try not to hassle people.

Lee's lucky that he's half a world away at the moment. Forget politeness and courtesy, I've got several choice words for him.
Yeah, it was fun to meet him. I regret not having something for him to sign (knew I should've brought my TPB for War Within Vol. 1), but it was cool that he took a photo with me.
