Description

Oh, how times change. Back during the original Beast Wars days, all Hasbro had to do was redeco the Cheetor mold to give us Tigatron. That led to people thinking that every Cheetor mold would get reused as Tigatron. Sometimes they did, even in a roundabout fashion (Transmetal Cheetor to a Japanese release of Ravage to a Transmetal version of Tigatron as a BotCon release, a Cheetor and a Tigatron done using the Cybertron Clocker mold for a later BotCon), but sometimes they didn't - the Universe release for Cheetor has never been released as anything but Cheetor, and thank God for that.

Hasbro, however, had the good sense to take the engineering for the Kingdom Cheetor toy, upscale it into a larger figure, and give us the Kingdom toy for Tigatron. This makes perfect sense, for all sorts of reasons - Tigatron was taller than Cheetor, tigers are bigger than cheetahs, and the Kingdom mold for Cheetor wasn't bad, but it certainly wasn't perfect. The larger toy fixes a lot of the flaws of the smaller toy.

I modified this figure with assorted add-ons. The first were gap fillers and non-firing missiles from TF Lab on eBay - you can barely see the missiles plugged into the underside of his arms in this picture. Second was the gun from the BDT Studio BDT-22 weapon set - the blade went elsewhere, as you'll see later. Third was a dual-barreled gun that I got as part of an eBay auction that I think was meant to emulate the weapon wielded by the Tigatron released for BotCon 2006. Finally, I got a piece from JRC Design which allowed him to store his tail in robot mode.
