Luc is my best friend.

He tried to convince me to avoid putting up a description, and instead write simply 'From the man who brought you bubblebutt' (which no-one is likely to get), but insisted on writing a blurb for him. Which is proving quite difficult. I think the more a person is in your life, the harder it is to condense them into a few paragraphs.

Luc has a mercurial mind, and an inherent love of sharing knowledge, myths and stories. I have countless memories of lying next to him (often tipsy), and drifting off to sleep as he retold epic stories, Greek and Roman myths, stories of Loki, Dido and Aeneus, of battles and heroes, of gods and their trickery. He has a remarkable way of making old stories new and accessible.

He is an aesthete in the purest sense of the word, I think. He constantly seeks out new knowledge, new forms and new skills. He approaches problems thoughtfully and logically, the remnants of education as an Engineer (which he set aside in favour of French - which he speaks fluently - and Philosophy), which makes him constantly baffled by my ability to blunder into situations and break things.

He makes beautiful things. Drawings, masks, sweet, eloquent speeches - he's currently teaching himself to write poetry. He is constantly searching for a new project.

As a friend, he is wonderful. Kind, gracious, grateful, hilarious, spontaneous, outrageous, inspiring. He can be ridiculous, which I love. He and I sit around telling each other how rad we think the other is.

I love him dearly. We're moving in together on Wednesday. I can't wait.
