Description
So, this has been sitting on my hard drive for a good long while and I figured I'd better go ahead and submit it.Here's the incredibly awesome Team TARDIS from series 5 of Doctor Who - the Eleventh Doctor, Amy Pond, and Rory Williams, setting out for some new adventures in time and space. I drew this back before the series started, back in February or March I think, for a scrapbook project at the doctoreleven community on LiveJournal.
I had every intention of doing more work on this--doing soft shading and turning it into a true digital painting--but the hard drive that held the layered PSD crashed and burned and all I had left was a full-resolution flattened jpeg that I had (thank god) saved to my desktop for some reason. So, here you go.
Also there is a sad lack of Rory fanart on the interwebs. I shall seek to rectify this if I can ever get off my lazy ass and draw some. (Rory is my favorite. Badass Roman centurion broom boy ... I'd marry Rory and/or Arthur Darvill if I weren't, you know, already married. And American.)

I honestly dont have a problem with amy and rory. I dont know if its because rose wasnt the first companion I ever saw (that spot belongs to donna) or if I'm just a sucker for characters who bring in a lot of snark and wit to the table.

I think what helps is how similar yet completely different he is to the doctor, they both know what their priorities are, but they have different methods of approaching it.
I REALLY hope in series 6 that rory retains at least some of his auton memories, like thinking his hand still functions as a gun, or being able to take on multiple people with nothing but a sword.

Oh, me too! Like, he knows his hand isn't a gun anymore but he still has that sense memory and habit of thinking it is ... and I also hope we see some confidence and subtle badassery from him.
I think I read somewhere that since Amy's basically head in the clouds and very much into the Doctor's way of life, that Rory is now the audience identification figure. I like this.

I know right?! it'd be a crying shame if rory got all that character development and didnt even get to keep it. though, I doubt moffat is going to leave the rory fans in the dust. I also hear theres gonna be a sword fighting scene in one of the new episodes, so, maybe we can have badass rory once more!
