There's no materise => HDR light, the only you need to know is how to put the image in the light texture.

Shit I wish I could afford something like that. As a serious story teller my work could profit off this type of quality. I would never create good looking art just for the sake of looks and comments, fuck that. Hence why most of my work contains a lot of strong written content along with it. It's just the quality itself suffers badly since I use Poser 7's rendering engine. Though I sort of realized that people only care about the way things look, not the actual purpose or meaning behind the work itself. I use to think the lack of comments I had was because I was using poser, and most people that use Poser don't recieve nearly as much respect as someone who creates all of their shit from entirely scratch and get this high quality look with it. BUT unless your using something that can give you that "I did it from scratch" look, I don't think you would gain nearly as much respect or comments if you had of rendered this with a weaker renderer. I bet people come to you for commissions all the time. Again my business could profit greatly off this type of quality. I have to admit, I do envy your skills and feel a bit ashamed of my own..

Eclesi4stiK In reply to UndercityIV [2013-10-20 11:45:56 +0000 UTC]

A lot to read . Btw commissions are very rare & those who ask is out of my skill (very often they ask me for creating a new character).
A lot believe characters seen in my renders are my own property that's false! I use already existing characters, only that.
I can tweak their head morph a bit that's all, the only thing is "made" by me is their bodyshapes.

Good render means a "powerful" computer (or a lot of patience), with Poser you can done fcking good render.
Ddon't forget that: a good render settings help you to get a good result BUT in Poser lights are very important a bad lighting will give you a "bad" render even with a good settings.
My Poser renders use, most, the free light set done by Bagginsbill (find him in google you will find his own site).
My recents renders are mostly done in Octane (with the Poser plug-in, means Octane standalone + Octane Poser plug-in), there is "no skill" only try & try & try, playing with parameters, lights, etc.
My next step will be learning Vray, just love the quality of the lighting & the render style of Vray.

I envy the skills of a lots of people here , in particular in the modelling work!

If you have any question ask .

Well I would like to think of the whole use of these models as a studio based effort. When you own a studio, your not working alone, you have a lot of other people working with and for you. So let's say you're a director or Producer and you want a few characters made, well even if you did not physically create the characters. Your idea and visions still count. Personally I am the one that give these characters personalities, nevermind whether or not they were designed entirely by me because I did not create them from scratch. I give the people that did the textures and such credit for that much, but still. To me these "models" are nothing until they are given a purpose, roles, and backgrounds. That is what I do with them. I strive to make them beyond "figures" by giving them personalities and responsibilities. I would love to break into animation or at least find a crew to work with and produce my first animated series. Because for me Poser is just there for practice. The characters I create with Poser are the same characters I would use in an animated series. People would then forget the fact they were poser models in the first place.Β

Animation is a lot harder, that's not the same work & attention than a one shot render.
I'm trying to animation but nothing concrete.

Well, depend of what you have in mind : a movie like Pixar do, clearly, alone could take a lots of time but short scene (xx mins) not so hard if you know your tools.
There's soft specialized in animation for handling all of the complexity. I know some who do their animation alone , in a great quality.

I tell you what, if you ever have the time free, maybe you and I could do a little side project. Now, my art isn't as high quality looking as yours, mostly because I use Poser 7 and it's old and outdated. I can't afford the upgrades and such. But maybe we can figure out something to get this project underway, You interested in story based material?Β

We will cover the basics when I am not so tired, and then go into detail on how we'll do the project. Since you have better rendering software than I do. I suppose you will be responsible for the rendering work, and I'll conjur up a storyline. It also depends on how many models, clothes, etc you have to work with.Β

My runtime is very huge, btw what kind of style ? Could i use my popular models or only new character ? Male/ Female ? How many models you think to put in a same scene (very important, take a huge memory/CPU use in Octane), etc more info .

UndercityIV In reply to Eclesi4stiK [2013-10-23 15:42:52 +0000 UTC]

Good morning,Β

Well let's see. First off we're not going to use a whole lot of them right now. First we need to be organized, better prepared for the type of work we're going to do.Β

We could use your characters depending on what kind that you have. See I'm not sure if I could send you any obj files or something of my characters, and then have you render them in Octane. It would be too much work to send you the files too, because that would mean file sharing. So, the only way I can see us getting around doing this is maybe we could make some new characters and share them. Though who ever creates them, gets the credit for the creation process, who ever designs and develops the personalities and name for them, gets credit for that. So, which one do you want to do, creating them or creating the written work?Β

I'm not a writer so ...

All of my characters are free to use, no credit necessary. Free to use for commercial work (i've already did it).
