A random idea my friend had.The reason everyone loves Gerard's voice, despite him mostly screaming, is because of the fact he's a siren.
(The story me and my friend wrote)
During the revenge era tour the boys go swimming, aside from Gerard and Mikey who avoid the water like the plague. Later, when Ray, Mikey and Bob are doing their own thing, Frank and Gerard hire a boat and chill in the lake till Gerard falls overboard and doesn't come up. Frank jumps in after him only to find a very fishified Gerard. Heavily implied Frerard.

I actually have some stuff already written which you are 100% free to use.
I gasp at the surface, grabbing the ladder and pulling myself back into the boat. Gerard’s head is peeking out of the water. Now that I can properly see, his full new look comes into my vision. His ears are pointed, his fins attached to them, that then join his jawline, and they seem to move at any noise. He has some dark red scales at the side of his eyes as well as prominent, now shut, gills on his neck. The rest of his body is below the water's surface, but I can make out reddish fins on his arms, from his wrists to midway up his upper arm, just below his shoulder. Around his hips red scales begin to show themselves, travelling further down, where the water becomes dark enough to cover it.
“You ok?” Gerard sheepishly asks.
“Well I nearly just drowned and my best friend just turned into a friggen mermaid, so yeah, I’m doing fucking fantastic Gerard!” I yell at him. He rolls his eyes and pushes himself onto the back of the small boat. His hips are covered in layer upon layer of blood-red scales, travelling down. His legs are gone, only a single limb with four fins, one on the back, two on the side, and the big one at the end of the tail, just peeking out of the water.
“I think the proper term for me is siren but I get your point.”
“What the actual fuck is happening.” I say, rubbing my head. I wish this was just due to the bump I had when I went down, but I assume the ice-cold water would have knocked a tad of sense into me.
“Look, as much as I want to Frank, and trust me I do, It isn’t just my place. Mikey has to have his say too…”
“Oh, Mikey’s fucking involved?”
“He’s my brother Frank.” Gerard glares at me. “Of course he’s involved.”
“You're full of shit Gerard Way.” Gerard smiles at me, revealing a mouth of teeth similar to a shark.
“Love you too Frank. Now hand me a towel, or We’re not getting back to shore for several hours.”
"So what triggers it?" I ask the Way's.
"Saltwater." Mikey replies. "Lot of it, not the amount produced by sweat and tears. Which for us is useful." I sheepishly rub my tattoed arm.
"And what does Mikey Way look like as a fish?"
"Dark green, bits of red and black." Mikey replies.
"Cool. Cool, cool, cool, cool, cool."
