originally they probably would be about 7 or 8. however, bleedman at some point made a change to the beginning of his comic, having everyone in 4th grade rather than 1st, thus making them older. all in all, it was a good idea to change that.

Mainly Because I Feel Only TEENAGERS Can Properly deal With The Stuff On the Comic (Romance, Action, Drama, Life & death Situations)
