DOF stands for depth of field... if you have a large depth of field then everything, or almost everything, is in focus in the image... if you have a shallow depth of field it means that you have selectively focused on a part of the image and everything else is blurred.
The most common ways to affect DOF is with your aperture setting on your camera. With f-stops around f2.8 - f 5.6 you will have a very shallow DOF and when you get into f16 and f22 you will have as much of the image in focus as your camera allows!
It's a great way to have more control over your image!

ja tinha comentado isto antes, mas visto teres re-submitido dei uma vista de olhos mais atenta! eis algumas conclusoes : as cores e a luz estao perfeitas! o angulo e a focagem ja nao acho tanto, da maneira em que estao conjugados...tipo para teres este angulo, acho que devias ter focado melhor a parte de dentro da flor!, que ficou um pouquinho escura! has-de experimentar tambem de cima....apesar disso acho que esta uma fotografia espetacular!

qnd Γ cena do blur (penso k deves estar a falar Γ volta, na zona das pΓ©talas, certo..?)
fui eu k na altura em k a estava editar no ps usei o blurs.. por axei k as petalas tinham de fikar com um ar de fade away... k na altura gostei.. mas pronto agora k olho melhor.. se calhar atΓ© tens razao...
se fores ao meu stock vΓͺs la a foto original.. dp diz-me qq coisa
qnt Γ tal "sombra" no centro... se estivermos a olhar para o mesmo..
