So this is my adoption try for the adorable Dead Drunk!

During her free time while at the olympics, Helen was on her computer searching through adoption ads for potential racers for the stable when she saw that Royal Pirate Stables had three amazing foals up for sale. A liver chestnut sabino, a beautiful silver black pangare and a gorgeous chestnut. Helen wanted all of them immediately but knew that she needed to choose one to buy. the liver chestnut had an interesting heritage that looked like he would be a tough opponent to others but had a biting problem. Helen did not want to buy a foal with biting problems, she was still getting over the last bite from a trial horse. Helen moved on to the interesting filly that was out of the outstanding Seaborn Odyssey and Hot Pursuit 2. two amazing horses but she is a 50/50 foal. Helen would rather have better chances. So to the chestnut Helen went. The colt seemed perfect. he won't cause trouble at the gate and will fly on the track. Helen picked up the phone and called to reserve a trial spot for the foal.

Due to the high demand, the foal turned into a yearling by the time he arrived at Outback Stables. Helen was home from the olympics and hoped to get back in the swing of things. She unloaded the yearling and lead him into a small field. She watched him for awhile before leaving so he could settle in. a few days passed and the colt seemed too calm for the type of racing Helen wanted to enter him into. She tried a few different methods to get him going on the track. from snapping a whip a few feet behind him to spook him a little to actually pushing him when he left the gate. nothing seemed to work. When Ryon returned from a trip to visit a friend he thought of something new. Ryon used to get colts going by bringing in a hug ball and playing soccer(football) with then. So Ryon found the huge ball in the back of the barn and blew it up. He then brought it into the field and started kicking it around. Dead Drunk actually responded right away by chasing the ball around and nudging it back to Ryon.

Finally the colt opened up and started to respond to Helen's training. She had their jockey jog him around the track then put him up against one of their younger racers. At first Dead Drunk was a length and a half behind the other horse, but once the jockey nudged him a little around the bend, Dead Drunk took off. First going neck and neck with the other horse then just sprinting off towards the finish. The result was Dead Drunk winning by about 6 1/2 lengths. As a yearling no less!! Helen knew she had to buy him and hoped that she would be able to with all the other prospectors. Helen wanted the amazing chestnut bullet, who does not fit his name at all.

by the way that ball is actually quite big. it is about 8 hands high which is about 2-3 feet so yes he looks more like an older foal but he is actually a yearling.
