I noticed from a couple days that the weather down here is getting warmer...and eventually reached up 85 degree by today Dang...8( can't really imagine when it actually comes into summer! *dried meat*

The tecnique used on the background is so peculiar! What made you want to use Gesso for it? Don't get me wrong, it gives the picture a gorgeous effect and depth.:3

It gets harder to work the hotter it is - try living in Australia where weather like that dominates more than half the year 
The oil-painter texture looks good, though it seems to have too much texture and depth compared to the relativly flat characters, I'll admit it slightly draw attention away from them, but it's not too much of a concern, especially since I don't think I've seen you do that before

I used Acrylic Gesso as base first, and once it dried, I spread watercolor on it
