Normal world version of Gwen Stacy that somehow got herself into superhero world. Works as a "hero" because don't want to be an extra that get squashed in the midst of superhero fight.

Actually, her name is Gwen Poole. The Deadpool-esque costume was the result of some confusion at a costume shop.

I think it's about the fact that Marvel killed off Gwen Stacy and so many, many years later decided to create Gwenpool.

Earth-616's Gwen Stacy died back in the 70's, but then Earth-65's Gwen Stacy was created for Spider-Verse, and proved popular enough to get her own series. Gwenpool is kind of like a mix between Spider-Gwen and Deadpool, even though she's not actually an alternate version of Gwen Stacy or Wade Wilson.

Actually, Gwenpool originated from a Deadpool's Secret Secret Wars variant cover. They did Gwen Stacy variant covers of several series, and the DSSW variant had Gwen Stacy merged with Deadpool, which was liked so much, she became Gwenpool, though she has nothing to do with Deadpool or Gwen Stacy, apart from the real life origin.
