Description
wanted to make something like from those old movies with ghosts and vampires... that's the "Peles" castle from Romania, and the "ghost" is just a surprised tourist. I think it looks good...

That's so cool. Especially with the tree in the foreground.

Oh, wow. While the sharpness does bleach some parts of the scene, it creates a wonderful effect. I love the patterns the branches form, and the castle draws me in and makes me want to explore and see what intricate passageways might lie within.

cool, you've achieved the spooky look, i love the dark contrast and the depth of all the architecture and the tree. i think the person there is a little lost and too far waway to matter in this shot, you should experiment more with this kind of shot.

Wow, it's really sharp! The upper part with the branches looks almost like it's a woodcut or something, because it's almost no greyscale there. I think it's an interesting effect and I like the photo, but this extreme sharpness is probably a little too much.

yep... I've been told, but I really wanted to make the tourist's face visible....
maybe I'll try eding it again somehow better...

Hmm, maybe you could experiment with making different parts of the image more or less sharp in photoshop?

Its interesting how there is such a vast amount of detail in this picture, however, it might even be too much. It would be best to soften the sharpness of the branches because they look like theve been actually been drawn on by a branch, if you know what i mean.
To fully accentuate the tourist it would be better to put them in the middle of the shot - making them the subject of the photo.
Nevertheless, great contrast and I like the idea behind it

I know I used a little too much sharpness, but I wanted to be visible her face (tourist's face)
...and I wanted to keep as much as I could from the castle... that's why the tourist isn't centered... and someone elese told me to another picture to avoid putting the central element right in the middle of the pic... but maybe it depends on the pic... on the subject... I'm not o good, I know...
! thank you for your critique and your time
a comment like this a day, keeps the sadnes away

^.^ im glad to crit! seriously!
+yeah i agree, it really does depend on the subject of the picture but in this case, since youre focusing on the girl, she should be in the middle unless she's very in-focus elsewhere.

i like how the tree frames the top of the photo, although i think it would be nice to see the top of the castle a little more.
but still really nicely done, and good choice on the black and white as well, it definitely adds to the "ghostly" mood you were going for.
