the outline is a mess but i was trying to make a single layer painting transparent so I TRIED OKmore niche art!! i watched a playthrough by Seri! Pixel Biologist! where they noticed some reflections in the water didn't represent some genes that were in the tribe. i just wanted to illustrate it.

i'm not sure i can answer as i'm not a dedicated photoshop user! but sai is moreso a simplified version of it. photoshop has much more options.
opencanvas1.1 is a highly outdated program that you can download for free. there's no transparency, all layers are multiplied... but you can draw with your friends in it like paintchat. i grew up only drawing in this program so i still enjoy using it.
