The armadillo's name is Bibo, after Bibo Bergeron the director of this movie (and of Un Monstre a Paris roughly ten years later, another one of my favorite animated movies). Oh man, whenever I hear the music or see a clip from this movie, nostalgia washes over me in waves. It's such a treat to come back to this every now and again.

If you're a nerd/a fan of anything in the animation community, you've heard of this movie. And if you haven't, you've probably seen your friends that have heard of it making references to it. I myself often thinking back on the "row back to Spain", "New plan to find the gold", and the "imperfect mortals" moments and giggling. Not to mention Elton John's music is always something that reminds me of summer in the best way, which is fun because summer is my least favorite season.
