She is doing well. We are getting ready to open our biggest show of the year, so she is getting ready to go back to work. I am really hoping she does even better this year.

These guys are so underappreciated. I always love when you can see right through their cere, haha. I like this shot--being able to see her eye so well makes you stop and think, and almost forces you to recognize her soul instead of just looking at a turkey vulture and going, "Ewww, it's ugly and it eats dead things, gross!"... They're kind of oddly beautiful birds (when they're not vomiting on you because you scared them haha), and I think this really shows that.

Thank you very much! I have a huge appreciation for vultures. Ebony is very special to me as well. She and I have an amazing bond and she has been slowly helping some of the people that meet her change their opinions on vultures. (Also she hasn't thrown up yet for us!)

Haha, that's awesome! I once worked with a lovely vulture named Edwina. Originally, she was Ed, but then a college class did a DNA test on her for practice and found out that Ed was a girl, so she became Edwina. Β She was a sweetheart--sounds like Ebony is very similar, and a great ambassador for vulture-kind! You're a good ambassador for them, too, with photographs like this
