The Amaterasu and the kids of Wep'keer having some fun in the snow... at Okikurumi's expense.Entry for Capcom's contest. I think the Oina people needs more fanart.

Hi, it was painted quite a while ago, but I remember looking at sumi-e art for inspirations.
I also downloaded a lot of Okami character reference images and screenshots for this.
It also helps when you want to color-pick from the referenceΒ image to help you get the correct colors.
When painting in the colors, use a soft brush with low opacity and brush same area multiple times.
Sometimes, use your software paint smudge tool to make it drag along the paper.
Of course, if you can, consider downloading water-color brush tool or something that is similar.

Oh wow, this is beautiful, it looks like it came right out of the game! I have to laugh at poor Oki, and he needs to learn to laugh at himself, too. I love all the details, like the fishing boy having caught that HUGE fish, and the inclusion of the priestess and other characters. He he, Amaterasu is all too happy to help the kids be mischievous.

Hi, are you refering to Saickle (Blue owl mask in large fur suit at the right of background)? I like him too, but the foreground was really crowded, and I wanted to draw all the Kamui people. ;_;
