I heated up something and poked it through a thin spot on the ear. I think I did it after I painted.
My advice to you would be to use a straightened paper clip and heat it in a candle flame ((make sure to grasp the paper clip with pliers and not your hand, as you could get burned)) and then poke at the spot you wanna "pierce". It helps to mark the spot before hand. I'd also do this outside or in a well ventilated room, since burning plastic smells disgusting. Hope that helps!
