awesome i find it difficult to muster a cd design with continuity especially when you are trying to capture music...what was your inspiration?

ooooooo damn you're so high and mighty. so get it again: you're completely NO PROGRESS for about 1,5 years. I permit you using this pic of mine [link] in your future cd cover design.

poor you. there is nothing worth, then being a stone, even if are a jewel. your reply showed me nothing but your narrow-mindedness

rest in piece

don't you think i know that i havnt made any progress? i found a prticular style for a particular niche and stuck with it. my folio is full of photocopies. now im stagnating and not making anything.

Great looking work, but the name has been taken before (somewhat) by Amon Tobin with his 1998 release "Permutation".

Still though, great artistry

Yeah. Ever since I was wearing a teal dress I HATED that color genre. But you did it in a techno style that made it tolerable. YW! ^_^

that just looks great! the topmost picture looks like the actual package is not going to be a jewel case, but some sort of package. love these, whish more cds would come out like that... by the way, where did you get the circuit background? that thing rocks most in the pic...

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

edit-dsn In reply to Fischziege [2005-09-04 23:44:53 +0000 UTC]

i used to be a computer repair technician and some days when i had nothing else to do i'd dig through the piles of junk and see what i could find. I'd find all these ancient components and motherboards/pci cards and they had the most incredible circuit design so i started scanning them all, got a library of like 100 scans now. see what comes of boredom! hehe

blindfive [2005-08-30 11:28:58 +0000 UTC]

Though I don not agree with ^bornghost as this being minimal design, it does flow quite nicely. I love the mix of natural and technical organics - showcasing that this CD probably contains a mix of both natural and electroinc sounds blended smoothly in one.

Nice warm undertones and colour choice...

I'm not too crazy about the font choice for the song titles, but that could simply be because I'm looking at it on screen, and not in print (seems a little too congested).

Very fluid design, nice work.

no you're right the back cover is a bit lame, i guess i ran out of steam there, it seems a bit sparse through the middle and congested in the corners. in fact the more i look at it the more it pisses me off...

MyLadyLiesWaiting [2005-08-30 10:40:02 +0000 UTC]

Just entering the world of graphic design for album art etc, and this is instantly a real benchmark piece! Haven't been anywhere near any 3D software, and probably won't for a while, as Photoshop is still enough of a handful! But the composition and concepts are all still inspirational. Fantastic piece of work, and my first commercial +Fav!

glad to hear you like it, and great that you're into album art, it's a great area to be involved in, gives you a lot of freedom to work, and keeps you blending graphic and typography.
i look forward to seeing your pieces

Dude that is so kool; I have like a fetish for lime greeny shades. Also really good because you havent gone over the top with the 3d abstract work; its still simple yet it keeps a clean well defined form. Really nice work!

edit-dsn In reply to Easel [2005-09-04 23:33:55 +0000 UTC]

mmmm green. yeah i get sick of 3d abstrakt type pieces so i tried to keep it to a minimum, focus more on the organic feel.
thx for the comment

fantastic design! Aussie based designer are you? Where abouts exactly?

I love the mock up. Is it a continuous folded cover like that, or in a case?
I studied graphic arts a few years ago, but I've only worked on several design jobs since graduating. I'm studying other things now, but I really want to get back to design, perhaps overseas.

Anyway, it's a brilliant result. Very fluid and attractive. Congrats on the DD. Well deserved.

It's a jewel case cd - those panels are front and back of the foldout. 4-page booklet.

yeah, thats where the comp is, and it feels wack using a different comp. the campus is just around the corner. trams were so clogged recently id have to wait 40 minutes, stupid commonwealth games.
