Injustice 2 has been out for several months, and I figured since I did a recast meme for Injustice: Gods Among Us, I thought I'd do one for Injustice 2. However, I will only do the characters introduced in Injustice 2, so don't expect me to do the returning characters. Also, I will not include DLC characters like Red Hood, Black Manta, and Starfire, since they have no relation with the main story of Injustice 2. (We see Albert Whesker in a destroyed Khandaq, holding the body of his wife, Isis)
I returned to find Khandaq devastated from Sigma's attack. My beloved queen was death.
(We see Albert carrying her body towards an entrance to the lazarus pits but his path is blocked by the Dark Brotherhood, which is formed by lizard and cat humanoids, humans and elves clad in dark leather armor and carrying swords, in front of them stands Lucien Lachance, their master)
I brought her broken body to the Lazarus pits, intent on her resurrection, but my entry was blocked by Lucien Lachance. He offered a trade, access to the pits in exchange for my aid in bringing him to power. Lachance admired Samus Aran's regime, but felt it should have gone further.
(We cut to the Dark Brotherhood, lead by Lucien and Albert Whesker in Gotham City. Lachance is now carrying the torn mask of Meta Knight in his hand. The unmasked vigilant is now kneeling before them, defeated)
While I have no love for Lachance, I accepted his terms. I will pay any price to feel the embrace of my dearest wife.

I really like Asura as Attrocitus, Takeda as Blue Beetle and Taskmaster as Deathshot.

Yeah. Asura is fitting as Atrocitus since both are angry characters. Takeda as Blue Beetle makes sense, too, since they seem to have similar personalities.

Indeed. He would make for a fine lantern. Also, question. How are we gonna do the scene where Freddy (Scarcrow) induces Kitana's (Wonder Woman) fears of having turned Samus (Superman) evil, without the whole lovers thing? Or does Kitana actually wants to be her lover?

Yeah. And I seem to notice that Takeda and Blue Beetle both seem to have similar voices, even though they're not voiced by the same actor.
Plus, I recall General Zod being mentioned in one part of Injustice 2's story mode, as well as making a cameo in Sub-Zero's ending (though, Sub-Zero is only a guest fighter). It's possible that Zod may indeed exist somewhere in the Injustice universe.
Plus, I've been wondering what became of the other characters from the last game (who survived and didn't return in this game). One example is Deathstroke. His last known appearance in Injustice: Gods Among Us was when he found the part that Lex Luthor needed for the Kryptonite weapon, then he just disappears, and he's not seen again after that.
