Idea from an old comic of mine [link]Entry for Cool Contest.
Subtheme: Super Heroes.
Attacks used: Surf + Ice Beam
Golduck uses his psychic powers to bend the water and form it into a sword. By doing so it uses Ice beam and freezes the sword of water into ice.

Not really, since they have 'psychic powers' even before they learn the move psychic. The Psyducks have psychic powers as well, but usually can only use them by having a bad headache if I remember.

im pretty sure when their headaches get really bad they use psychic moves to alleviate the pain they dont just have psychic outbursts...

as in it can use psychic abilities this proves nothing if you see someone using telekinesis in the street you consider those powers mysterious psychic can also be mysterious there fore that entry proves nothing and your argument is invalid

Well it proves that Golduck can use psychic powers without knowing the move psychic. Therefore the move Psychic is not required as a moveset.

Lol no. Psyducks have not the greatest control over their psychic powers. And even without knowing any kind of psychic moves they still have psychic abilities to livitate things, IF their headache is intense enough. When a Psyduck evolves it has full control over it's psychic abilities.
The move Psychic and psychic abilities are two different things.

yea but golducks can channel these psychic abilities into psychic moves if it was just a random psychic outburst they would have no control and could not form the water into a sword shape without using a move

Golducks can indeed channel those Psychic abilities into damage making moves such as confusion, psybeam, psychic and what not. But for things such as levitating (Aka non damage dealing) they don't even need to know a psychic move in their moveset. It's something they are born with.

no that is dumb if anything they use the move telekinesis to move things with their psychic abilities. they channel their power into a move it just isnt used as nothingness or just plain psychic ability that would fall into the move psychic so there has to be a psychic move in there

Not really. What you're saying is that they know a psychic move before they even know a psychic move. Doesn't make sense. Like I said, Psyducks have psychic powers already before they have a psychic move in their moveset.

no what im saying is that for a pokemon to form a blade out of water with their psychic abilities they would need to use a psychic move to shape the water i was not debating they need to know one i was saying that if a pokemon is using its psychic abilities to shape water into a blade they would need to use one of their psychic moves. dont confuse what im saying with what YOU think im saying.
