It was a great time.  NYC with friends. One had been there a little bit, the other had only done an organized tour, so we were not doing the big sights as much as the odd, off-the-beaten-path things.  Some movie locations, and galleries, for example.

taking pictures off the beaten track is often more fun to photograph,

It is the main rail station in Washington, about a kilometer from the Capitol.
