Description Louis wins xD

... for once.

And yeah, I know if you're being picky Louis isn't technically a yank - but do you think Lestat spares any insult when his pride is targeted?

Nu, for he is the Brat Prince

p.s. omfg I Mojo!

By the way, is Lestat intentionally tan? It looks a bit odd, but I like it.

I reckon that'd be becuz it's after Body Theif that the religious themes start getting introduced.. I always found them interesting but kind of contradictory to Lestat's character.

Ah well.. thankyou for the comment and yeah, he's tanned cuz it's after he (intelligently) tried to kill himself xD

I'm still in highschool This is my last year, though *excitment... and terror*

I'm studying at a private girls' school on the north shore in sydney, and it's a truly disturbing place.. everyone around here has more money than they know what to do with >_>

Uuh.. my subjects are art, modern history, drama and as much english as a student can do xD

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

ChocolateWrapper In reply to Eeba-ism [2008-08-01 11:41:37 +0000 UTC]

Private all girls' school?! *fights for air* How DO you survive Here in Sweden we have our own schoolsystem. For example; we start school at the age of 7 and most of us graduate at 19 *points at myself* There are 3 levels, highschool would be the highest, so to speak. And yes most of us continues to university.
I graduated in June, my subjects were socialstudies, history, science, media, english and ofcourse art. Plus x-numbers of other subject, by the time I'd graduated I'd taken about 30 courses (just in highschool ), some of them A's, B's and C's (diffrent levels). I hope you're not too confused by this xD

Eeba-ism In reply to ChocolateWrapper [2008-08-02 00:13:09 +0000 UTC]

*doing my happydance* yes I'am but now I face another problem, I need a job or I wont get any money I'll head of to the university next year...I think. Whats wrong with your system then? And did you choose to go to an all Girls' school or was it your parents idea?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Eeba-ism In reply to ChocolateWrapper [2008-08-03 04:55:05 +0000 UTC]

Uh.. our system just puts far too much pressure on the final year of school instead of pacing it out. The final year promotes alot of bad health, e.g. bad sleeping habits and less exercise cuz students work too hard.. there's also even an issue with depression and suicide because everyone gets so fanatical about the importance of the HSC. *sigh* it's insane.

What are u going to study at uni??

..and the thing about Sydney is that the best schools are private, so boys go to boys' schools and girls to girls'. There's not that much choice xD

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

ChocolateWrapper In reply to Eeba-ism [2008-08-05 12:48:44 +0000 UTC]

Aha I see. Here in Sweden there's a minor war going on between private schools and communal ones. I am a proud former member of a communal school *wave* but there's a lot of rivalry between the communals as well. Your system does not sound much different from ours. The Swedish variation of highschool, continues to torture its students for three years. The first year is soft and cosy, the second one reminds alot of what you explained about the 3rd and our 3rd is almost soft and cosy. Though we had an exam-project of 100 points to finish. I was one of the lucky students at my school. Nicoali (<---the name of my old) school has a program for the senior students to try out for and if you're lucky you can be one of the 10 students that can do all the fieldwork of your project in Uganda. So that's where I went. For 14 days. ^^

When it comes to what I'm going to study I'm still a bit unsure. Art would have been nice but it's not my only interest. I'm in love with books, and my biggests desire is to become a writer and be able to live of that. But since it's a timeconsuming job I'll need to do something else beside writing books (I've got ideas for like 12 atm)So I thought, publisher, why the hell not? but I also want to study abroad, mostly in either GB or Australia. So far I've found a program of three years at Blekinge Institute of Technology, all in english. The name of that programme is Literature, Culture, and Media (not nessesary in that order, I can never remeber in what order the words come^^) I'm still a bit confused, but hey I've got almost 6 month to figure it out.

Oh can I ask you for a small favour? Please correct me If I make any spelling and grammatical mistakes.

Eeba-ism In reply to ChocolateWrapper [2008-08-09 06:42:33 +0000 UTC]

That's so cool about going to Uganda! That would have been a great experience

I know there are some great schools in GB, and there are a few here.. but it's really hot in summer xD

The way you're approaching university is exactly the same way I know I will.. I'm not sure exactly what I wanna do yet, and I'll have to get a job. Ah well. It leaves room for oppurtunity! It's better than being the kind of person whose sure they know exactly what they want.. but then recieves a nasty shock when they realise they don't xD

Your spelling and grammar is excellent! Is English your second language??

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

ChocolateWrapper In reply to Eeba-ism [2008-08-11 13:14:35 +0000 UTC]

It really was And I have no problem with heat. Could you please give me the names of some of the schools in GB and Australia that you know of, just so I could check them up?

I totally agree! Your better of taking one years off to think through things then rush into something new and then find out you didn't want it in the first place. But I have to confess, I now deep down what I want do to, but the way to acheeve it is so long It is slightly depressing.

Oh thank you, well English is not my second laguage really, although it feels like it. I've been studying English since I was about 7 or 8 years old and up to highschool (about 12 years now ). I belive it was first introdused to me in 1st or 2nd grade. As far as I know, most children here in Sweden doesn't begin to learn English until 3rd grade. I was one of the few who could write simpler senteces and say a few words in English when I started my 3rd year in school.
But when you think about it, you could say that English is my second laguage, German would then be my third, but I can hardly remember anything exept for simple sentences. I spent most of my German lesson snoring in the back of the classroom, which resulted in me getting all the hard questions, which ofcourse I couldn't answer *whistles innocently*. Our Germanteacher was a bit nuts, nobody really like her, including me ^^. Though today I wish I'd taken more intrest during class, because German is quite good to know.
In Sweden it's obligated for all students to learn a minimum of three laguages; Swedish (obviously), English and then either German, Spanish or French. In Highschool you can also choose to take Italian, Latin, any of the other Scandinavian laguages and some other which I cannot remember. It all depends on which school you attend.

Hm...btw what is your name?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Eeba-ism In reply to ChocolateWrapper [2008-08-13 08:43:00 +0000 UTC]

Ah, sorry, I don't know any university names off the top of my head.. uh, well, i do.. but it all depends on what you want to study.

There's the University of New South Wales, which covers everything I think. You could also look up Charles Sturt University which I'm pretty sure has a good art program. Then there's the Victorian College of the Arts (or Victorian Arts College.. I can never remember >_> ) which is in Melbourne.

I haven't really started looking into schools myself so I don't know that many xD

I think you're very lucky in Europe to be required to learn languages.. I know that in Australia, America and Canada there aren't many people who can speak more than one language. I did French for a few years, but I don't remember anything... and I know a miniscule amount of Japanese from watching too much anime x3

..For English being your second language you're doing amazingly well. I thought maybe you had an English speaking parent and had grown up with it xD

My real name is Abby. I think it's boring lol. What's yours?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

ChocolateWrapper In reply to Eeba-ism [2008-08-13 18:12:08 +0000 UTC]

Thank you *starts looking up schools*

Japanese was acctually one of the laguages I couldn't remember! I've always wanted to go to Japan. That country has the most wonderful scenary. I bet I could gather a lot of inspiration from there.

Anime is one of my favourite genres. Spirited Away belonges to my pile of most watched movies. Hayao Miyazaki is a genious, just like Tim Burton and his wickedly beautiful world. You can never watch too much anime! Unless it's the crappy kind.

You might think of us as lucky but most students hate to have to learn more then one laguage. I like it though. That knowledge can take you anywhere in world. Although sometimes it can be hard, if you have too much to do. Having to write an essay in English, one in Swedish and then make up a story for your teacher in German you are bound to be slightly nuts and loose your mind on top of that.

I have a Swedish mother and a father whom is half Swedish and half Dane. No English speaking members in my family. That I know of anyway. (I've must have inherited my mothers gift for laguages instead of my fathers steady hand with mathematics. >_>

My real name is Sandra. Quite ordinary if you ask me. The name Sandra wasn't very popular ca 30 years ago, but now every girl seems to be named that ^^ I like typical Scandinavian names, those names who has been with us like for ever and ever. Luckily I'm not the only one. Originally Sandra is not a Swedish name, I belive it's English or American. I think.

Is Abby your full name or is it short for Abigail?

Eeba-ism In reply to ChocolateWrapper [2008-08-16 05:54:20 +0000 UTC]

*le gasp* Miyazaki and Burton = ..I've seen nearly all of their movies.. Edward Scissorhands will always hold a special place in my heart when it comes to Burton.. (oh, but so will Nightmare before Christmas and Corpse Bride) ... and Howl's Moving Castle is my fave Miyazaki movie - but i ADORE Spirited Away and Princess Mononoke, too

..and I know what you mean about crappy anime ><

Other-language-skills are in my family, too.. I'm great with pronunciation and I remember most of the words and phrases I learn.. I've just never spent enough time learning a language properly. I shall definately be doing that next year tho :3

Yeah, Abby is short for Abigail - but I only get called "Abigail" when I'm in trouble xD

ChocolateWrapper In reply to Eeba-ism [2008-08-16 18:10:43 +0000 UTC]

Howl's Moving Castle is one of my top Miyazaki movies, have you read the book? I haven't seen Princess Mononoke yet but I will, sometime ^^. Corpse Bride and The Nighmare before Christmas are winners too. I've acctually never seen the ending of Edward Scissorhands. Have you seen Sweeny Todd? It's good. Nothing can go wrong when you put Johnny Depp and Burton in the same roomlotting.

Next year? What will happen then?

Oh my mum just groals at me when I'm up to no good and then she yells and then we fight and then she usually wins >_< But only 'couse she's my mum.

Oh sounds nice, me a and a friend sre still in the planning of catching a plane to South Africa next summer before I head of to the University. Well if I can find a job to finance the trip that is. ^^

Yeah I do need to see the ending of ES! Need to get my hands on the movie first. Sweeney Todd was brilliant, I love mrs Lovett's dress I wanted to steal it and steal Johnny while he's wearing that striped bathingsuit. But I wanted to strangle the fair singing kid in the end for killing my Depp. Naughty boy :/

How's it going with MC? Any progress with the chapters?

Have u ever seen Sleepy Hollow?? (its another Burton X Depp film) .. one of the main characters, Katrina, wears a dress at the end that I would kill for xD It's such a beautiful dress ^^

Haha, I like little fair singing Tobey! Did you know that in the original musical Sweeney kills himself and Tobey is left down in the cellar with all the dead people.. and he goes crazy.... it's very disturbing XD

Uuh, about MC, I'm finally able to start writing again now that I've finished all my work, so hopefully I'll make some progress with that this weekend. And I'm sorry for taking nearly a whole week to reply! That would be becuz of work, also T_T

Sleepy Hollow...Sleepy Hollow....I know the name but I can't remember the movie. I might have seen it, dunno. Since we're discussing pretty clothing have you seen The Phantom of the Opera and Christines dress in the scean where the Phantom sedusces her on stage? I want that one , the dress I mean.

Oh I haven't seen the original of Sweeney Todd. I like Tobey too but I still hate him for killing Depp, but HOW does he sing like that? I'm impressed.

Oh don't worry, I remember my days in Highschool, essays, assignments, projects groupwork etc. It never ends. When does school start in Australia?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Eeba-ism In reply to ChocolateWrapper [2008-09-03 11:20:49 +0000 UTC]

...You can have that dress... I'll take the Phantom XD

Uuh, the school year in Australia starts around the beginning of February and ends in December.. which is good, I suppose, because it complies with a year instead of being spread out over two years like I know happens in America.

But I'm sure either way school sucks xD

School doesn't suck all the time. I loved my English and Art lessons. Here in Sweden school starts in August and ends in June. So yes, one school year is spread over two here in Sweden too. But our schoolsystem is diffrent.
