When I heard that Ian McShane would be playing Blackbeard in POTC4, I kid you not, I screamed with utter joy. I do love the Pirates movies, they're all in good fun (I adore Jack and Barbossa's dynamic, Geoffrey Rush in general, and POOR COMMODORE NORRINGTON).... but I honestly was a little disappointed they'd decided to continue the series when I first heard about it. I figured they'd probably be milking it, plus I considered Will and Elizabeth to be completely wrapped up.

AND LO AND BEHOLD, Will and Elizabeth won't be in it. SO ESSENTIALLY, it's just going to be THE ADVENTURES OF JACK AND BARBOSSA VERSUS IAN MCSHANE MY FAVOURITEST ACTOR AS THE ONLY PIRATE I WAS EVER HISTORICALLY INTERESTED IN.

Blackbeard, whose real name was Edward Teach, used to braid hemp into his beard and light it before he went in to battle, yep, the moar you know. Hence the picture lol.

... I can't believe I just raved that much about Pirates lawl. Now no one will want to listen to me about HANS LANDA.

That's ok. I hope everything I would rave about him (had I not exceeded my rave-quota) is depicted in his expression. He will always remain one of my utmost favourite characters, and Inglourious Basterds will always remain one of my favourite films. I swear, it gets better every time I watch it.
