Description
Somewhere on the Alaska Highway, a place where the wilderness begins right where the highway ends. It couldn't be more different from home. Here the Rancheria River leads into the vast landscape of the Yukon.

The river looks like a hard border. All the life is on that side.

Yeah, it's a fantastic drive! Probably more traffic today than back then but for me the traffic is still almost non-existent. Better road conditions as well.^^ Maybe you could do it again, that would be nice.

I would love to.. back then places to stop were hundreds ofmiles apart too.. I expect there are more now

Oh, it's actually kind of similar in the Yukon still. I guess on the Alaska Highway there is a bit more but on the Klondike Highway there is literally nothing for a few hundred kilometers. Granted there are dry government campgrounds every now and then. But it's not like there are any services except for pit toilets.
