Description

On the last stretch of our long hike through Yosemite Valley that day. We left Glacier Point before sunset because we still had to hike about 8 km back to the road. Luckily enough further down the trail we still got a view of Half Dome with the last bit of sun hitting the top.

In the end we still hiked into the dark. The last 30 minutes or so were pitch black and we didn't have flashlights... We also met 3 other people, two men leading an elderly woman down the trail. From the sounds of it the poor lady probably couldn't see anything, even with their flashlights. They safely made it all the way to the road though. We saw them coming out of the woods just when we found some people that gave us a ride to our car. Originally we had planned to take the shuttle back and the Visitor Center had assured us the shuttle was going to run that late. Turned out it did - just not at the stop we were at...
