Description
One of the amazing waterfalls alongside the Berg Lake Trail. There are a few big ones on the ascend between Whitehorn, where we camped, and Berg Lake. I would argue this one is the most unique one of them because of its colourful, name-giving pools. I guess it stuck out even more because the pools contrasted so strongly against the monochrome colours of the rocks and snow.I also really liked Emperor Falls but more so because of how it was placed in the landscape. I know I'm teasing here a bit but I got a panorama of that one coming up at some point.
Location: Fall of the Pools, Berg Lake Trail, Mount Robson Provincial Park, British Columbia, Canada

Thank you! Yes, the streams and lakes are often amazingly blue here. It's absolutely unreal. Glad you like it!

Welcome, I'd say you struck gold with this shot. So much beauty in the snow for adding rich texture variations, yet still warm enough to capture fluid motion in the waterfall and surreal sapphire colours I might guess comes from melting ice further upstream.Β

Thank you so much! Yes, it wasn't that cold. The colours come from mineral deposits. The falls are part of the Robson River which starts from Berg Lake. Berg Lake is being fed by 3 glaciers and there are more glaciers along the river that feed into it. So technically you are correct. I just wanted to add a bit more info.
