Description Sometimes horizontal lines in landscape photography just work. I originally wanted to stitch a panorama but I somehow really liked how this vertical shot turned out. I think the colours down in the marshes around the pond are crazy.

This is near the end of our hike in of the Mara Canyon Trail. I personally wasn't convinced of this trail. Most of it was probably due to the fact that we attempted to do the loop clockwise instead of counter-clockwise, like it was suggested. Because of this we missed the fork (the sign was really miss-leading, as there where multiple trails crossing each other) and kept walking on a broad quad trail. It was raining so the trail was muddy as hell... We decided to turn around at some point and took the correct fork on our way back. The rest of the way was ok but except for the dog-poop-section - a 100 m section of the trail that was almost completely covered in dog-poop... I suppose every dog owner in Kamloops takes their dogs there...

Location: Mara Canyon Trail, Lac Du Bois Grassland Protected Area, British Columbia, Canada

Indeed! The area looks drier than it is though. Although I suppose it is indeed a lot drier in this area than it is about 100 km to the east and west of this.

Very beautifully composed. Love how the foreground colours return in the mountains in the background

Yeah, it's a valley with volcanic mountains/hills on both sides. Thank you!
