-Shion steals the remaining years of a person’s life in order to extend her own. She is much older than she appears, but Shion can’t remember her true age. She stopped counting a long time ago.

-People like Shion are often referred to in folklore as “Children of Nature”. They are exceptionally rare legendary Pokemon with more animal-like qualities than the average gijinka and they usually come from two non-legendary parents. Shion was the daughter of a Mandibuzz mother and a Honchkrow father and to her knowledge there are no other Yveltals like herself.

-Shion had a somewhat rough childhood. When she was born she was clearly not a Vullaby or a Murkrow so she was labeled a bastard child and a bad omen by the townsfolk. Her father never liked her but her mother loved her dearly. The woman was often attacked (verbally mostly) for always defending the child. It took a huge emotional toll on her mother and only in her teens would Shion realize how difficult her mother’s life was because of her.

When Shion was old enough to fend for herself she decided that she needed to leave. She loved her mother and her mother loved her so it was sad to say goodbye, but Shion thought it would be for the best. It gave Shion some peace of mind to know that things did indeed smooth out for her mother after she left. She was also able to visit in secret every now and then so it wasn’t all bad.

As the decades passed and Shion’s mother grew old she understood that it would soon be time to say goodbye. She tried to prepare for it but she was still devastated and shocked when she learned that her mother had passed away in her sleep just the night before.

Shion’s connection with the village weakened after that. She disappeared into the mountains and her visits became much less frequent. She stole lives often and was labelled a monster by the people from all of the neighboring villages. Time and time again they tried to vanquish her. And time and time again she stopped them with ease. The stealing of countless lives… never really bothered Shion. Her actions to her just felt natural, like it was something that she was supposed to do as an Yveltal. There was no ill intent so she never questioned it, and she certainly never thought of herself as evil because of it.

Over the centuries as Shion accumulated more years for herself, her life-stealing activity became much less frequent. She still takes lives when she feels it’s necessary but nowadays she is only spoken of as an urban legend of sorts and her existence has been forgotten. She currently lives in a home among the mountains and enjoys her days spent in relative peace.
