Yay! I finally can submit this one.. it's been finished for a week or so by now

I just needed to do this.. I loved this manga/anime/movies so freaking much that I needed to do some fan art about it xDDD
It's small, it has only 39500+ stitches, and it's 31cmx20cm.. but it was harder than I thought.. I had troubles since the design of the pattern.. specially with Light's hair.. I dont think it came out that well :'(.. I also had troubles with the "Death Note" katakana thing at the bottom of it.. I'm not too happy with the way the "su" came out.. but at least it's readable.. right ;_;??
The pattern was designed by myself (no.. not with a cross stitch program... if you know of one of those that's free, please note me!) but image I used as a base was not done by me, I found it in one of the covers of the manga
I used 10 colours to make it, and it took about 2 months to be finished

EDIT: I changed the image.. the other one was too blurry, so I scanned it.. and then tried to remove all the yellow from my scanner... it still looks kinda yellow though .______.

It took about two months to do all the stitching, but the fact that I had to see L and Light while working on it was a great motivation

Hmm.. it really depends on the size of it, and in the type of fabric you are using, this one took around 2 months

uh.. I used a needle to stich one by one the stitches that makes the image itself by using different colours of floss as needed XD??
If you ever do one a giant one, I'd recomend you to use a very low hpi fabric, as an 11hpi, so it uses less stitches
*hpi = holes per inch (this ones uses the 11hpi fabric [link] and it's a lot bigger even if it has a similar quantity of stitches in it

it's just that I'm not good with english and I get confused quite easily
oh no.. you never must draw or print in the fabric (for one thing it could ruin the finish work once you wash it :3 ) there are some premade one that have an image printed.. but I think that's like cheating XD
You have to do a pattern on paper, square by square, and then you copy that one on the fabric
There are special programs to do that pattern on the computer.. but they are too expensive and I cant afford them XP so I make my own patterns using Illustrator and Paint, I vectorize the image I like, and then I add a grid to use as reference in Paint n_n

This one had extra motivation, I had to look at 2 bishies while working on it.. so I did it more often that whit the others xD
the only trouble I had is that I couldnt find out what Light's hair colour was.. and when I had settled on one (he have a different hair colour in every manga cover x__X ) I couldnt find it in the store.. so I had to use whatever shade of browns I had .__.

WOW. O_O Que paciencia (nunca dejo de sorprenderme de como haces estas cositas, creo que tenes uno de los pasatiempos mas originales que he visto.. anime en punto de cruz. eh... aunque no es tan original el pasatiempo, me encontre un grupo de gente que hace punto de cruz, y algunos hacen de anime y/o de juegos X3 (aunque si que va leeeeeeento.. casi nunca hay updates xD )
ya se me ha pasado por la mente eso de las ferias, pero no tengo ni idea de como hacerlo XDD

La queres que empiece y termine con negro verdad? queres que las franjas sean iguales o que las negras sean mas gruesas o mas delgadas que las blancas? y con o son mechitas? y si lleva mechitas, todas negras, todas blancas, o de los dos colores XD? si me pudieras decir tambien como de que ancho la queres me ayudaria :3 creo que son todas las preguntas necesarias xDD
