Description
So I recently asked for critique on a page of Realm Quest and some people suggested to shorten the white space between panels (sadly I don't know any easy way to widen panels in MediBang, so I'll have to do this manually. There will be crooked panels), to make the eyes glow a little (I actually knew animal eyes reflected light in the dark beforehand, but I was worried that glow eyes would be distracting), and to to add a bit of light on the characters to make them stand out a bit (I don't think that much light would shine on them since almost all light is blocked out in the Dark Realm). It would be really helpful if you guys could tell me what you think of it. Does it look good? (I hope so because this is more time consuming).

I think that this picture has really well demonstrated good shading and lighting. It really pops out, and looks a lot more real than usual. Shades position and anatomy look really good as well! I feel like (this is more of a review of Realm Quest as a whole) if you want the dark realm to be more dark, maybe have a layer of just darkness, but erase where light is and blur it so it looks more dark? I dunno, just a suggestion, I wont get all triggered if you don't do it. I like the glow, I like Shades position in the pic, and the background isn't too distracting or anything.

Oh, wow, I really like those highlights.
Also, you use MediBang? I'm just barely starting out on it, how do you do such perfect cell shading with it?

I draw in the shading with the pencil tool set at 3 (pixels I think) and draw in where I want the shading to be. Then I use the paint bucket tool to fill it in. But I do all of my shading on an overlay layer and adjust the intensity of the shading with the opacity bar.

I was too when I first started out. I didn't even know how to shade or adjust the paint bucket settings!

You can adjust the paint bucket settings?
Clearly I have much to learn, Sensei.

Yeah, I set it to 1 instead of 0 so there wouldn't be a white border around everything it filled

it looks really nice! And, coming from a whale who always draws his panels by hand, I personally like the look of uneven panels. I feel like it adds character. Plus, you'll get really used to drawing panels overtime.

Thanks! Should I keep the eye glow? I don't really like it...

I was suggested to give Humbee a bit of glow, and I didn't like the pure white either. So instead I made it a sorta pale-red to reflect his iris color. Maybe you could do that for shade. Or, you could add iris shading to make the actual iris color pop out, like a deep blue under the top lid
