Ronin DownPart Three: Breakout
Keeping an eye on the enemy shuttle, the pilot was careful to keep within sensor range of the frigate ahead of them. If they lost it, they could very well lose Chase as well. But as he opened the shuttle bay, the pilot knew this team had what it took to bring their captive mercenary back alive. When the light to launch the shuttle lit up, the pilot dropped their shields, allowing the small, insertion shuttle to leave the transport.
As the shuttle flew towards the target frigate, everyone inside activated his or her shields and HUDs. Krystal slipped her recon HUD behind her ear, watching as the device slid around to her eye, splitting into two prongs to create the screen with her vitals and hit sensor over her left eye. Once it was active and working fine, the vixen tapped a panel on her arm, activating her shield unit. As the blue energy spread over her body, it tightened to her to form a second, more protective skin. Once she was sure it was functioning properly, the vixen sat down beside Mira, holding her head in her hands.
The wolf placed a hand on the vixen's shoulder, "He'll be fine."
Krystal nodded, "I know…Chase is strong…"
Delta smirked as his own HUD slipped over his eye, "Ten bucks says this goes off without a hitch."
Mira smirked to the wolf, "I'll take that bet, but I'll raise you to your entire tab being paid off in full at the bar if we get this done fast and without complications."
Delta chuckled, "I like this mission already. Blow up some sev`fel, beat down some bounty hunters, get Chase back, and get my tab paid off? Chase should get captured more often!"
Krystal smiled a bit at Delta's attempt to raise their spirits, but it was a hollow smile and both Delta and Mira knew it. Kimmy however just seemed focused on the mission, as they all should have been. She had nothing at stake here, only the completion of the mission. But without Chase at her side, Krystal just could not seem to get focused. As the vixen glanced towards the cockpit of the shuttle, she wondered what was happening to her partner…

Chase's head hit the cold ground hard, followed by the rest of his body. As he pushed himself up, the fox heard the heavy door slam into place, locking him in the cell once more. As it did, Chase got to his feet with a smirk. Before being tossed in, he had managed to once more bring the ocelot to the ground, stealing the key to the force cuffs binding his wrists. Now as he worked the key into the lock, Chase began to think of a plan. He could not allow himself to wind up in the hands of the ones who had murdered his parents and slaughtered his entire colony. While the Sev`fel certainly would not recognize him as anyone in particular, Chase had already been captured once and was not about to let it happen again. In a few seconds, Chase felt the weight of the cuffs slip of his hands, the metallic clatter as they hit the floor intensified by the silence around him.
The fox rubbed his wrists as he looked around and asked himself, "Ok, now what? You got free of the cuffs, now to get a weapon, preferably that rifle the guard had."
The fox smirked, picking up the cuffs. They were still good, and could prove useful in aiding his escape. All he needed now was someone to cuff them to. With that, the fox examined the heavy door that kept him inside the room. With a smirk, he lifted the swinging panel near the bottom where a food tray could be slid. This too could prove useful.
Carefully, he pressed against the panel, feeling it move outwards as his hand pushed outwards as well. When Chase looked out, he could see the legs of a guard outside it. The fox smiled.
"Hey guard, got a question for you." Chase said.
He heard a sigh as the leg turned. Chase got to his feet and smirked, putting his arms behind him, hiding the fact that the cuffs were no longer in effect as a window slid open at eye level. Chase realized the guard was the same ocelot he had taken down, Minerva's top lieutenant.
"What do you want?" He asked.
"I was wondering something." Chase said with a smirk in his voice, "One on one, who would win between us? Me, or the guy I took down in three seconds?"
The ocelot growled, "Watch your tone there, you mangy fox."
"Or what?" Chase asked mockingly, "You're going to come in for round two? Please, you're no threat to me."
"Keep talking and I will come in there and beat you down!" The ocelot growled.
"Bring it then!" Chase challenged, "Come on, let's see what you've got!"
Chase stepped back as the window slammed shut. For a second, he thought his goading had failed. But as the sound of a heavy lock clicking open suddenly split the silence, the fox smirked, getting behind the door as it opened.
The ocelot stepped inside, but as he did he looked around for a second. His eyes scanned the room, looking for the mercenary. But as he turned, he found Chase's fist striking his neck! With a grunt, the ocelot fell to his knees as Chase shoved him aside with a kick to the side. Quickly, Chase grabbed him, flipping the force cuffs onto his wrists with one hand and skillfully drawing the rifle from his back with the other, firing point blank into the ocelot! As he fell to the ground, Chase smirked, knowing full well that the rifle had fired the same stun rounds that had been used during his capture.
"Not exactly your best job, pal." Chase said, closing the door behind him and locking the ocelot in, "Enjoy your stay."
With that, the fox ran up the ramp towards the bridge, firing as two other bounty hunters noticed him! Four shots rang out and, with quiet groans, the two slumped against the walls, Chase running past with little time left to stop. He had to take down Minerva before she tried to hand him over to the Sev`fel.
Chase took no prisoners on his way up, gunning down several more of the crew before reaching the doors to the bridge. The fox finally reloaded, letting the empty clip clatter to the ground as he inserted a second magazine of the high velocity stun rounds. The fox wanted Minerva alive and couldn't risk an accidental kill. If he could capture the raccoon leader, this mission may not have been for nothing. Even the slightest lead on the next attack could save lives and precious resources from the Sev`fel. With that in mind, Chase's fist slammed against the switch to open the door…

Unaware of the situation, Minerva waited in the hanger with a small crew of her best killers. All of them were armed with assault rifles in case things went south, but they knew who was in charge. Their job was simple, stand there and look tough and, if thing went bad, kill everything in the hangar besides their own team. But none of them were ready for when a small, black, sleek looking shuttle landed in the hangar, it's thrusters cutting out as the main propulsion drives slowed it to a stop, hovering for a few seconds before landing.
The side of the shuttle slid up, revealing twelve, human-ish figures. Their lower halves, however, were missing as the bots moved out of the shuttle, taking positions before the bounty hunters as they raised their arm cannons. Their silver bodies glistened in the light of the hanger, the bots glowing, golden eyes held a cold, lifeless stare as they waited or orders from a similar unit with a blood red stripe across one side.
Then, a lizard like creature stepped out, its dark, pebbled skin dull in the light as it's blood red eyes glanced over the bounty hunters. On it's arms and back were long, blood red spikes, nicked and scratched, some even broken, from its years of fighting to earn it's rank as a commander of the Sev`fel warship it was stationed on. It looked to the lead robot, giving a nod. With that, the Reaper units lowered their weapons, spreading out to cover each bounty hunter. If they received the command, the fight would be very short. Until then, the bots remained cold and lifeless.
The Sev`fel looked to Minerva, a clear lid sweeping quickly over it's eyes as it blinked, "I presume the package is being prepped?"
"Depends." The raccoon replied, "I would like to get the rather nasty process of a new bounty out of the way before we fetch your request. Can't have it damaged, can we?"
The Sev`fel gave a soft growl, "What is your idea of an appropriate bounty for this capture?"
Minerva smirked, her tail slowly swinging side to side as she paced slowly, never taking her eyes of the Sev`fel before her, "Well, considering if he were fully armed I would have lost a very large portion of my forces aboard this vessel, I'd say due to the hazard alone from this dangerous mercenary…double it. And in cash."
"That will not be a problem." The Sev`fel commander replied, "I have anticipated this action ahead of time and made preparations accordingly."
He snapped his fingers and one of the small, scorpion-like units walked out of the ship, carrying a briefcase on its tail gun. The Sev`fel took the case and presented it to Minerva.
"Two million credits, in cash." The Sev`fel smirked, it's red eyes glowing in the light of the hangar, "Now, I would like my package."
Minerva reached for her radio, tapping her neck, "Someone go collect the Ronin from his cell."
But soon her expression changed from collected calmness to an angered look, the news of Chase's escape reaching her ears, "Then get him back under control! Stun rounds only and don't fail me again!"
"Problem?" The Sev`fel asked.
Minerva looked at it, smirking, "Not for long. My crew can easily bring him down again. This should not take too long."
But in her mind, Minerva knew that if Chase had made it this far already, there was a good chance things were about to get worse for this deal.
* * *
As the door slid open, Chase opened fire immediately! Bursts of gunfire sped out of the room as Chase took cover behind the wall, firing blindly around the corner. He knew he had to reach the control panel to disable the ship and open a connection with the corporation's secure lines. If he could call for back up, they could at least pinpoint his location long enough to send the nearest team for assistance. Until then, however, his only option was to stay alive long enough to reach the panel.
The fox took aim carefully when there was a break in the firing from inside, taking down three of the armed personnel. As they hit the floor, Chase moved quickly, avoiding being shot as he ducked behind a bank of controls. As he heard the shots digging into the computers, Chase wondered why he had been so stupid to refuse to take Krystal along to help. If she had been at his side, Chase was sure that none of this would have happened.
"Too late to think on that one now." Chase thought, firing another burst of stun rounds, "Come on! Drop you clowns."
He heard the sound of another body hitting the floor after it made contact with something else metal. Chase didn't risk a peek in case it was a trap to get his to poke his head out for a shot. Instead, the fox looked for another position to move to before they got smart and moved up on him, preferably against a wall so he could not be flanked. But for now, the computer bank was doing a good enough job of keeping him safe from gunfire. But he knew it wouldn't last.
Then, Chase saw another bank of computers up against a wall. The only problem was it was across the room, and between him and that position and him was several bounty hunters and crewmen with high velocity stun rifles, all dedicated to taking him down for their leader. Energy pummeled the computer bank he was still sheltered behind as the fox fired blindly back at his foes. He knew, if he moved, he would be brought down, but if he stayed, he would not be able to hold for much longer.
Energy continued to dig into the panels as Chase pulled the rifle back, reloading it quickly with some spare round he had picked up. Taking a breath, Chase knew it was now or never. The fox took a few shots to get them to duck down as he rounded the corner of the terminals, firing as he ran across the room to another bank of computers up against the wall. Two more of the bounty hunters went down, slumping back against the wall as a third fell back over a rail, unconscious. Chase slammed his back against the wall, firing off a few more rounds as he took cover, energy bolts digging into the wall where his head had been just a second earlier. But instead of waiting for the enemy to need to reload, Chase dropped to the floor, firing around the corner and taking down the last few with well aimed bursts of gunfire.
As the last one fell, Chase stood up, looking over the unconscious forms around him. Furries off all kinds, including the flight crew, were unconscious, slumped against the walls, across terminals, or just laying where they had fallen. No casualties, but no one could help Chase now if he wanted to open a channel with corporate communications. The fox sighed and walked up to the main terminal, accessing the database that Minerva had left unprotected.
"She probably had no idea I would even try something like this." Chase thought as he accessed communication channels, "Now…to find someone to send a team after me."
But as Chase opened communication frequencies, he found that he could also access the short-range radar, and that it had picked up a corporation shuttle and carrier! Quickly, Chase opened a hailing frequency between him and the carrier, hoping whoever was on this shuttle would get him out of this mess alive.

Unaware of the situation, Krystal waited for the shuttle to reach the enemy frigate. Suddenly, she heard a soft 'ping!' in her ear.
She placed her hand on her Recon HUD, activating the microphone, "Ronin-2 here, go ahead."
"We just got a communication from Ronin-1." The pilot reported, "He's taken control of the bridge for now, but he said there are a lot more bounty hunters already on their way to recapture him."
Krystal nodded, "So we're on a more desperate time limit now, huh?"
"Seems like it." The pilot replied, "He is able to override the main systems and open a bay in the hanger for landing, but the Sev`fel are already aboard. Expect heavy resistance."
Krystal nodded, "Understood…don't worry about us."
"Who said I was worried?" the pilot asked.
Krystal smiled and cut the connection, telling the others what she had been told. As she did, Delta smirked to himself, never having doubted this sort of result from Chase. As he did, Mira gave him a playful punch on the shoulder, nodding to Krystal. Krystal nodded back, knowing what she was thinking. With Chase distracting them in the inside, they would have a better chance of getting him back. Finally, things were looking up.
"Tell Ronin to open the shuttle bay doors on the opposite side of the ship." Krystal said, "We'll go in from there and try to take out the Sev`fel before they can make the trade."
"Affirmative, over and out." The pilot replied.
As the pilot cut out, Krystal looked towards the frigate they were intercepting. The vixen sighed, checking her rifle once more.
* * *
Meanwhile, Chase looked over the controls before him. He had received the confirmation that a shuttle was on the way to retrieve him. But the fox had to override the controls to open a hatch for the shuttle to land. Luckily, the frigate's automated external defenses were already deactivated, so that was not an issue for Chase as he worked. While he tried to figure out the interface, Chase also picked up rounds of ammunition from the unconscious bodies around him. If anything else happened, the fox now hand enough ammo to last him for a little while longer. But, as he turned back to the monitors, the fox heard one of the microphones squawk to life.
"What's the situation up there?!" A voice yelled, "Someone answer me or I will have your heads!"
Chase picked up the microphone with a smirk, "Sorry Captain, but your crew is a little busy at the moment."
"Ronin! You little-If you mess up this deal I'm going to kill you myself!" Minerva growled.
"You'll have to reach me first." Chase smirked, cutting off the connection.
As he let the microphone fall to the ground, the fox looked over the panel again, but not before making sure he hand a clear shot to the doorway. If anyone came through, Chase would be sure to take them down before they could take a shot at him. But for now, his main concern was trying to figure out how to open up the hangar for the shuttle. Chase navigated the interface, now used to the layout, for a minute before finally finding the shuttle bay controls. Once he had found them, the fox worked for a few seconds, trying to open the shuttle bay doors. Finally, a confirmation appeared, saying the shuttle bay doors were opening. Chase only hoped the team on the way was ready for what they would be up against.
* * *
In the shuttle, Krystal watched out a window as a large pair of steel doors opened slowly. Knowing this was their way in, she grabbed an overhead rail, her weapon ready to go as soon as they landed. As the vixen looked back, she saw the others grab a rail as well, each of them holding their weapon. Delta with a S-32 HAR, Mira with her minigun strapped to her back and a blaster in hand, and Kimmy with her energy shotgun. All of them were ready to go as soon as the door opened up. Knowing this, Krystal watched as the frigate swallowed the shuttle, just hoping they could land without any difficulty. Especially since she knew what the Sev`fel were capable of in close quarters combat. Reapers could tear armor to shreds in seconds if they weren't careful.
But as they entered, Krystal and the team found themselves watching as a raccoon left the hangar, a small team with her as a tall, reptilian creature nodded to a robotic unit. With a jolt, the shuttle landed, and twelve Reaper units brought up their guns, aiming at the shuttle…

you say that every time, but thanks.
And yes, the minigun will be quite fun to write up. Especially since nothing says "You screwed up big" like an unrelenting barrage from a minigun!

Charge? You must have me confused with someone who can afford to charge people
Anyway, if you want to put them up somewhere, you already have my permission so long as I get credit for writing them and Nintendo too.

As long as you do not charge for it, they cannot say its illegal. If its protected as a fan story, and your properly credit the appropriate parties, its perfectly legal.
Its under fair use. You can claim the story, they claim their character(s).
So ads, or anything else are legal, as long as you credit the party(ies) and are not charging for them.
