Description The Journal of Team Nexus: The Hidden
Part two: Eevee’s Discovery

Latias was amazed.  As soon as they had come to the area that Eevee had disappeared in, the storm had subsided.  Now as Ronin looked over the area, he realized something.  This wasn’t just any snow field now.  This was a training ground he’d been using to train for Miyuko’s team and a hopeful defeat of Moltres.  So far, he’d been a fearful that he would have to undertake the challenge of an entirely new layout.  But now he smiled to himself.
Miyuko spotted his smile and asked, “What’re you so happy about Ronin?”
“I know this area.” Ronin replied.
“How do you know this area?” Latias asked, “We heard that it was unexplored.”
“By a rescue team, yes.” Ronin replied, “But I train here pretty often on my own.”
“So you think you know it well enough to locate Eevee?” Charmander asked.
“Probably.” Ronin replied as he shook a red pack off his back.
The eevee dug through it quickly, producing a small, light blue orb.  Drawn on it was a red crosshair.  The radar orb.
“But this will help a lot more.” He said, rolling it to Charmander, “This entire area is mapped out on it already since I use and reuse this one here.  Ninetails wanted it mapped out so he did something to it so I can use it over and over again.”
“You don’t mean the same Ninetails that Eevee and I met about the legend do you?” Charmander asked.
“Actually yes.” Ronin replied, “He asks me to do things occasionally to repay him for letting me live out my banishment by Moltres.”
Latias looked out over the snowy field, fearing that somewhere in this snow was a frozen, dying eevee.  Her eevee.

As his eyes began to open, Eevee groaned.  The first thing the eevee noticed was that he was hot.  Very hot…and very wet.  His entire body, with the exception of his head, was submersed in warm, yet soothing water.
“Please, try not to move much.” A feminine voice said nearby, “Your body temperature is not up to where it should be for an eevee such as you to survive outside of the spring.”
“Wha?” Eevee asked, his mind and vision still fuzzy, “Where…?”
“Please, you must rest still.” The voice said.
Eevee felt his eyes closing once again.  As much as he tried, the fox pokémon couldn’t resist it.  Within seconds, Eevee slipped back into unconsciousness.
When he woke up the second time, Eevee found that he was in a warm straw bed, covered by a soft, warm blanket.  For a minute, he thought that, somehow, he had been brought back to the Nexus base.
“Oh, you are awake.” A voice said.
It was then Eevee realized that he was still not home.  In fact, now that he looked around, nothing looked even remotely familiar.
As the eevee glanced around at his new surroundings, he felt confused.  The entire room, aside from the floor and the furniture, had been made by being carved directly into ice.  The walls shimmered as the light from a series of window high up let in sunlight.  But the light had no warmth to it.
“Where am I?” Eevee asked aloud.
“You are in our home.” The voice replied, “Well, my home to be exact.”
Eevee turned to face the voice and found something he hadn’t been expecting at all.
The creature was indeed some sort of fox.  Its fur was mostly blue, but its tail and ears were diamond in shape. From the top of it’s head came, what looked like, a second pair of ears, not unlike those of a rabbit.
“Please, do not be alarmed.” The new pokémon said, “I am not going to harm you, good eevee.”
“What the heck are you?” Eevee asked, “And where am I?”
“I was named Arctica by my parents.” The pokémon replied, “I am a galceon.”
“A what?”
“A galceon.” Arctica replied, “In fact, we are the only pokémon you will find here.”
“Where’s here?” Eevee asked.
Arctica smiled softly and placed a paw on his shoulder, “Come with me, and you shall find out.”
As she turned to leave Eevee got to his feet and shrugged off the blanket.  He felt shaky for a minute, so he held still, letting his balance return to him.  As the galceon walked through a doorway, she glanced back at Eevee, apparently a bit amused by his shaky movement.  But within seconds, Eevee walked up to her and followed Arctica out of the room.

As Eevee followed Arctica, the fox pokémon realized something.  This had to be the new area that had been uncovered.  For one, he had never seen or heard of a ‘galceon’ before now.  At first, he never would have believed a tale of these creatures.  But now, Eevee couldn’t believe his eyes.  Galceons seemed to be the only inhabitants of the village.
Two, was the village itself.  The village was like nothing the eevee had seen before anywhere on the continent.  The entire village was made from nothing but ice and stone.  Unlike the town, the Nexus base, or any other village he’d seen, this village could have easily been hidden inside any ice storm.  If the blizzard hadn’t subsided, he probably would have missed the village altogether.  As far as he knew, he could have been right at the gates when he’d passed out.
“You seem surprised about something.” Arctica said, sitting down, “Mind telling me what seems so surprising to you?”
“This whole village.” Eevee replied honestly, “This is…it’s incredible.  I’ve never seen anything like it before.”
Arctica smiled gently, “You are the first outsider to see it.”
“I am?” Eevee asked.
The galceon nodded, a smile playing on her face, “And I am glad it was an eevee who found us.”
“Why’s that?” Eevee asked.
Instead of answering, the female glaceon got back on her feet.  With a ‘follow me’ nod, she began to walk away.  Eevee followed close behind her.
*           *          *
Back out in the snow, the radar orb had kicked in.  Ronin’s visual range multiplied by three, highlighting anything on the snow that could be a pokémon in a soft, red glow.  But his enhanced senses only remained above the snowy surface.  He couldn’t tell if anything was below it.
“So you said that an earthquake opened up the new area?” Ronin asked as he scanned the white field before him.
“That’s what Eevee told us.” Charmander replied, shivering, “The quake triggered the avalanche that opened it really.  But he wanted to go it alone this time.  Mainly because he knew it'd be too dangerous for me to accompany him I guess.”
“Was he acting strangely at all?” Miyuko asked.
“No stranger than usual.” Charm replied, “Why?”
“Just curious.” The espeon answered, “See anything Ronin?”
The eevee shook his head, “Nothing yet Miyuko.”
As he scanned the area, Latias felt a sudden chill down her spine.  As a psychic pokémon, the latias had always had a decent sixth sense.  But it usually never kicked in unless she was really in trouble.
“Uh guys, I have a bad feeling something’s about to happen.” Latias said.
“Huh?  Like what?” Charmander asked, looking up at her.
Instead of answering, Latias looked out over the snowy plains.  As she did, Ronin looked back at the three behind him.
“I’m not seeing anything that looks like an eevee.” The fox pokémon stated.
Latias slowly lowered her head, sorrow beginning to build in her heart at the thought of never seeing her beloved eevee.
“But there is something out there.” The eevee continued, “And I’ve never seen anything like it.”
“What do you mean by that Ronin?” Miyuko asked curiously.
“I mean this thing is definitely a pokémon, but it’s not like any I’ve seen before around here.”
“What thing?” Miyuko asked.
As soon as she had said this, a sudden snow storm overcame the four without warning.  In their surprise, four mysterious pokémon attacked them, knocking them out before they could react.
