The Journal of Team Nexus: The HiddenPart three: Truth
As Eevee followed Arctica, the fox pokémon felt a sudden chill down his spine. Something was wrong. His fears were confirmed by another couple of galceon, he guessed males, running up to them.
“Arcitca, we’ve got something big.” One said in a pant, “More of the outsiders.”
“Are they like this eevee?” Arctica asked.
“One is.” The other replied, “There’s also a female espeon, a charmander, and a strange, red and white, floating one we have never seen before. The floating one and the charmander both have neckerchiefs like this eevee.”
Arctica thought for a second, and then asked, “Anything else odd about the others?”
“Yes, the charmander had an orb on his tail. He claims that it is to protect his tail from the icy wind.” The first one replied.
Arctica looked to Eevee and found the fox pokémon already in thought. Then, his eyes widened.
“You know of these strangers?” the female galceon asked.
“They aren’t strangers.” Eevee answered, “Two of them are my closest friends. But the other two…I think I know them.”
“You think?” Arctica asked with doubt.
“I’d have to see them first.” Eevee replied thoughtfully, “I’ve run into a few eevees during the missions with Charmander. Not to mention a few espeons as well. But I’d have to see them to be sure I actually know them.”
Arctica considered this for a minute, and then nodded, “Alright let him see them then.”
“Alright, follow me.” The first one said.
As Eevee followed him away, the second one glanced to Arctica, clearly worried.
“Are you sure this is a good idea?” He asked, “I mean, you’re the daughter of the chief, if something happened to you-.”
“There’s something about that eevee.” Arctica interrupted, “He’s not like any I’ve ever seen around the village. It’s not physical, but it’s there none the less. He’s more than what it seems, but he’s trustworthy. That much is for sure.”

Eevee was led to where his team was being held. Unlike his had been with Arctica, their holdings weren’t as comfortable.
The icy prison chilled the eevee to the bone. The frozen air around him refused to let up on his skin, casting icicles into his breath. But as he walked, following the galceon ahead of him, the fox pokémon realized the air was warming. Very slowly, but warming as they drew closer to a door at the end of the frozen hallway.
“I’m sorry for having to imprison them.” The galceon said, “But the defense of our village is a great concern now that we’re exposed. The chieftain didn’t want to take any chances after the avalanche.”
“I can understand that.” Eevee replied.
The galceon pushed open a door to another room. When he did, a gust of warmer air flowed out of the room, letting the colder air flow into the room. But even as this colder air breezed by his skin, Eevee felt warm. Inside this room were three pokémon he definitely recognized. And they recognized him immediately.
“EEVEE!” Charmander cried out happily, “You’re alive!”
“I told you I’d be alright one way or another.” Eevee replied as the charmander hugged him, the increasing heat of his tail warming the area around them.
When Charmander released him, the eevee immediately found himself in the arms of Latias. Without having to say a word, he already knew she was beyond relieved that he was alright. But Latias was still unable to hold back her tears of joy.
Eevee licked her cheek and nuzzled her tenderly, “I’m sorry for worrying you.”
“I’m just so glad you’re safe.” Latias replied quietly, “But what are these things?”
“Something called galceons.” Eevee replied as Latias set him back down, “I don’t know why, but I have this weird feeling that something about these galceon seems pretty familiar.”
“You mean the princess didn’t tell you?” the guard asked.
“Tell me what?” Eevee asked, looking at him.
“Follow me you five. There is something you have to know about our kind.” He stated.
Without a word, the five followed him to the surface once again.

Back on the surface, Arctica and the other galceon were waiting. When the six finally came back up, Arctica saw the curious look in Eevee’s eyes. Eevee looked her over carefully, still unsure about what the male had meant.
With a sigh, she asked, “You still haven’t figured it out have you?”
“Figured what out?” Latias asked.
“What we galceon are.” Arctica replied.
“Then no, we haven’t figured that out yet.” Eevee stated.
Arctica sighed, “Then I guess it’s time to tell you. Eevee, glaceon are another evolutionary form of eevees. We’re the ice type evolution.”
“Wait a second, there’s five possible evolutions to an eevee.” Eevee replied, “But those are fire, water, electricity, dark, and psychic types. How the heck did all of you evolve into ice types?”
“It’s something about this area.” The male explained, “Once we are at a certain point, the evolution takes place, changing us from eevees into galceons. Unlike the other forms, we do not need an item to evolve.”
Latias thought for a minute, then realized something, “Eevee, all of the forms you can become have the word ‘eon’ in them, correct?”
Eevee nodded, “Yeah, but what does that have to do with anything.”
“Galceon.” Latias explained, “Just like with all your other forms, it has ‘eon’ at the end. They could be telling the truth.”
Miyuko nodded, “She’s right Eevee. I am an espeon. Just like the others, I have the word ‘eon’ at the end of my species name as well.”
Eevee thought it over for a minute, and then said, “But still, how can we tell if you are telling the truth? If the evolution occurs without an item, how does it occur?”
“When the time is right, we just seem to evolve.” Arctica replied, “None of us are sure about it, but it seems to have something to do with our village. This is the only place eevees can evolve into galceons.”
Eevee nodded. It made sense considering that no one had seen these pokémon before.
“But I must ask all of you to keep our village secret.” Arctica begged, “If news of us got out, we’d have a hard time dealing with the explorers coming. Not to mention the possible exploitation of our evolution in this area.”
“Don’t worry, we will.” Miyuko said, placing a paw on her back, “Me and Ronin will keep quiet about your village.”
“And so will we.” Eevee nodded.
Arctica nodded in response. In her heart, the female galceon knew she could trust these five.

At the gates of the village, Eevee and the others looked back at the village hidden in the ice. Eevee couldn’t help but feel that they were still very exposed.
“I know what you’re thinking Eevee.” Ronin said as he walked up to the fox pokémon, “But they’ll be hidden again soon enough.”
“And how do you know that?” Eevee asked curiously.
“I’ve been training in this area a lot.” Ronin explained, “And it’s very prone to freak blizzards. I’d give it another ten to twenty minutes before this place is completely invisible again.”
“Then we’d better get out of here before that blizzard hits.” Charmander said, already shivering, “The quicker we get home the better.”
Eevee nodded, then remembered that he still didn’t have an escape orb.
“Anyone have an idea on how to get home?” the fox pokémon asked.
“We came prepared.” Latias replied, taking an escape orb out of Charmander’s pack.
With a blinding flash, the five disappeared completely. But as they did, no one noticed several galceon watching them. With a quiet smile, one of them leaped back to the ground and began to trot back into the village. The remaining galceon whipped up a blinding blizzard. Just as Ronin had said, the village once again completely vanished in the storm.
