Oh man, this is gorgeous!I love the lighting on the scales, the way it shines gives it a lovely almost metallic sheen.
DA switched to automatically convert uploads to jpeg. Only way I've found to get the best quality is to upload the image as original size. Or you can export it from a program that can at a smaller size if you don't want the full one to be shown and then set it to original size.

Deviantart is weird. It gets back some of the quality, but not all, when it does work. I'm sorry it didn't help. One time DA ate one of my writing pieces in the middle of uploading and I had to start over on it.
