Description More than two months and a half after beating the game seems fair to comment on Forgotten Land's final boss.

Absolutely love the design, it's pretty and yet somewhat sinister with the eyes and hands. The fight was really fun with the variety in attacks. It was also the only boss that managed to kill me in the main story; not once, but twice. The spear particularly landed the most hits (I underestimated the range and I rarely float to dodge attacks) and the huge meteor was hard to dodge sometimes. 'Two Planets Approach the Roche Limit' is such a great track. It's name might as well be my favorite in the game.

And then there's their backstory and the lore it provides. There's so much to say.

I never subscribed to the 'Elfilin is going to betray us' mindset, but got kinda worried during the elevator segment with the whole 'Ultimate Life-Form' speech and all. I was glad that what I had in mind wasn't the case (I'm sorry for nearly doubting you, Elfilin). The truth actually elevated Elfilin as a character for me.

Now Fecto Elfilis. During the fight I noted some similarities between Elfilis and Void Termina, particularly the diving in attack. With Elfilis, as Fecto Forgo, ability to take over the minds of many beings despite the distance and make their dreams a pocket dimension, I think that it might be in a similar level to Void Termina in terms of power. Not necessarily a god (Void himself is left unclear if he is really a deity or not); but as part of a "group" of powerful otherworldly beings, one of a kind.

As for the spatial teleportation capabilities and how the old civilization used them to create new technology. It's the Ancients, or specifically section within them. I think the majority in the fandom agrees with that. The first thing I though when that was mentioned was the Lor Starcutter.

Regarding that, Magolor's line about the ship being believed to be sentient along with the information about ID-F86 got me this weird idea: the old civilization made their technology by taking fragments of Elfilis' soul. For starters, Elfilin, created by accident revolving spatial teleportation; described as being born from a "small compassionate soul". Elfilis/Forgo described as a "vengeful soul" (though that refers to Soul Forgo).

The Isolated Isles, has Kirby and Elfilin gathering pieces of Leon's soul. The mode informs us that a soul can be split into pieces. The cutscene that leads to Forgo Leon's fight and the one after Morpho Knight is defeated reveal that one can live without the soul being complete, though there's a limit. May be something to do with the ability to maintain a physical body stable. Since Elfilin is very small, the amount is enough, whereas a being as big as Forgo is melting. This isΒ inconsequential speculation that only implies that technology like the Lor and may be the Novas are part of Fecto Elfilis to a degree. Don't need to agree, I tend to not fully believe my own theories myself.

But anyway, in summary Fecto Elfilis might be my favorite final boss in the franchise, though that's an undefined ranking.

Side note: After Elfilin accepted the tiny light, be what remains of Chaos Elfilis or their reincarnation; I headcanon that they manifest in Elfilin's mind akin to the Vampire King and Marceline at the end of the Stakes miniseries from Adventure Time. I envision they appear as Elfilis, but may be as Forgo makes more sense.
