When I was thirteen ( HxH was one of the first manga I read and still one of my favourites ) I had a crush on Kurapika because I thought he somewhat looked like a prince charming, with those kind and mature personality, blond hair and blue eyes of his- ahahah XD but I eventually came to prefer Killua over him because Kurapika got too much involved in the whole "revenge" matter and changed in a way I didn't like so well.
So now I could say that he's my no.2!

I heard that he went in and out hospital quite often, don't know about the detail either.
Sadly, though I think Kurapika's outer character is so well-made, like you said! the prince type!
I found him so annoying from quite the beginning of the storyβ¦β¦β¦
and I feel annoyed whenever he came up.
Still, I watched the OVA of Kurapika's story anyway! lol

What, really? That's sad... I think no one knows what he really has, anyway. I tried searching for some information but didn't find anything. They say Shounen Jump doesn't release any information and someone thinks he just went on a hiatus to spend some time with his wife and children. I would be happy with that, I just hope it's not some serious illness if you say he's going to the hospital quite often.Β
Kurapika was just so " oh-so-perfect-and-courteous " and that made my juvenile heart beat fast. I've always loved prince-like characters when I was little, but now I prefer the like of Kensei from Bleach and enthusiastic ones like Hinata from Haikyuu.
Damn if there's an OVA about him I must watch it too ; 7 ;Β
Always ready to chat about HxH, I loved it to the point that I inserted an OC of mine in it when I was 13 lol. I was so accostumed to throw Mary Sues in every single manga I liked, jeez.Β
