Hello, everyone! I hope you're all doing well! Here is something that I've been talking about for a while, but I honestly would've liked Annie and Clarabel to have the special coach's role in The Missing Coach. I don't find The Missing Coach to be a confusing story, and while I find the reasons for Britt Allcroft cancelling it at the very last minute (when most of the episode already been filmed) to be very silly (like, serious, even if she found it "confusing", she could've made the episode anyway, as I doubt it would cause any trouble when aired on TV, not to mention "The Diseasel", an episode from the same season/series, had a similar plot to it), I never liked the special coach itself. Like, it's not a bad concept, but considering that it was only a one-off thing that Awdry used once in the books and never again makes the coach itself pointless in the long run. If I would've been Awdry, I would scrap the special coach altogether and just use Annie and Clarabel. I think it makes more sense that way, as Thomas does have a special connection with his coaches, so them going missing would obviously make him angry with the Scottish Twins. Off course, this would mean the episode would be retitled to "The Missing Coaches", but would that change anything in the long run? I honestly don't think so really, but I guess the twins later rescuing Thomas in "Thomas Comes to Breakfast" would be their way to "repay" or "apologise" for causing all the trouble with Annie and Clarabel, despite it being an accident really.
