My first thought upon seeing this picture was "Awww... How cute! Sollux is crying over Eridan's dead, chainsawed body!" I do very much enjoy Sollux taking Eridan's scarf and the way he is carefully cradling him. Your description of Sollux's inner thoughts is beautiful and actually would be pretty close/almost spot-on to how Sollux would react if he really did pity Eridan in that way in canon. Seriously. That snippet just adds so much to this.
My only mild critique is that Eridan's entrails are too tidy. He looks like just the skin around his stomach was removed rather than being chainsawed in half.

Aww. Thank you for the comments, I really appreciate a thought out response. I tried as much to think how Sollux would react and I just... I think he's a bit of a tad sensitive, mentally anyways. With his mental state as it already is, all of his psionic stuff messing him up and his really guarded self, I think such a string of horrible, unfortunate events would leave him shaken in such a manner. Especially if, in canon, he felt like that to Eridan.
I always like adding in snippets when I find it appropriate, as not only is it some twisted, failful homage to Hussie's narration style (title + description) but also being able to imagine what's really going on in the characters head. And I love psychoanalyzing characters C:
I personally suck at entrails so I skimped out on it. My personal excuse to justify my utter failure is that Sollux had Karkat or someone still alive and not batshit insane help him move Eridan's halves back together and tidy it up to an extent so Sollux could easier pretend that Eridan isn't dead, but rather... sleeping, you could say.
